Although i didn't really gt the message of this story,i enjoyed it. It was wonderful written. The tone is dark and intense.
The narrator is, again, opium influenced, which cast a feverish dreamlike feeling upon it all.

Yes, a very dark story.
Was Rowena's transformation a drug induced hallucination or super natural? Another tale of Poe's where the narrator seems unstable. Poe likes the first person narration which leaves his tales ambiguous. This is a tale of the psychology of infatuation.

Was this a story of the supernatural, reincarnation, or opium addiction? Guess it is up to the reader's individual thoughts. Opium was factor in my opinion. A dark tale.
