Kind of an alchemy love story. This is an intriguing story of Alec's hidden love for Genevieve and the mask he wears to hide it from his friend Boris. This is a man vs nature horror story but no one ever really seems in peril. In the background of this story is The King In Yellow. Alec reads some of it and has a dream of Carcosa. I'm thinking the city Carcosa in The King In Yellow could be a parallel universe. It seems to be a cursed placed. I'm curious if we learn more of The King In Yellow in the other two stories or if it just stays some mysterious element in the background.

A pretty weird, but enjoyable love/horror story.
The narrator is, admittedly, in love with the sculptor's wife, and found a solution which turns whatever is placed in it to stone. Yap, trouble ahead.

Can't put my finger on it, but "Carcosa" reminded me of "Castle Discordia" from the DT Books.

Alec- the narrator, in love with Genevieve. Boris- sculpture, the lover of Genevieve. Chemistry in play- turn live objects into marble. Quick solution to his art. Boris sees possibles trouble ahead. Many questions are left for the reader. What are the meanings of the nightmares? And what is this strange place= Carcosa?
