An enjoyable, spooky short story,
that could also be a predeceesor of what would later be known as cosmic horror.
I liked the Story in a Story concept.
The idea behind it was interesting,
it sometimes reminded me of Predator (invisible Creature we don't ever witness)
What's the meaning behind what Morgan called "The damn thing" ?
Nice Story about the fear of the unknown.

I've read that one before and like it quite a lot. It has some humor with the coroner. Like Frank said, it's a story about the fear of the unknown. A lot of classic horror stories are about people battling invisible creatures or ghosts. And in this story, it could have been something unusual or just a wild animal or even murder.
