I've read the Story and listened to the Audio Version. Christopher Lee is such a wonderful narrator, very well done.
It's been a while since i read this story, totally forgot how good it is,and although i had to google the words "Obeisance", "Quaff" and "Yore", i really enjoyed it.
This poem is a study of loneliness, grieving, insanity, melancholy, prophecy, and more than anything else it is about madness. When the Raven arrives, the atmosphere becomes kinda magic.

Also, when you read this aloud or listen to the narrators, the poem has such an incredible rhythm to it. Both the Lee and Price readings are excellent.

I think Lee's voice was perfect for this story. Going to listen to the Price Version later on.

The poem is about grief but it also shows how grief can turn to anger as the narrator gets angry with the raven.

Excellent thoughts and reviews. Completely enjoyed both audio readings. Makes it feel so alive.
