Hi guys!
Yes, thank you (and all the others who I am sure will comment). Yeah, I'm going to go to my doctor's and ask for some medication to help me basically switch off.
Like you guys said, its not a question of not knowing its faulty thinking, I know it is, its just that the emotions go into override, you know?
Thanks so much again folks.

Guys, I'm doing really bad at the moment. I could go really detailed about what's going on, but I've ended up just sending a message to Joe about it all which pretty much sums it up.
Joe, I gotta be honest with you, man. I'm having a really terrible time at the moment.
My OCD is pretty insane.
Its not so much the rituals (i.e. turning a light switch off and on), its the mental aspect of it all. Basically, what's ended up happening is that a relationship I was in has ended, and I don't really know how to deal with it. The thing about OCD is the faulty thinking, so you make connections that aren't really there. And its honestly got to the point where I am so distressed that I can't do basic things like even enjoy tv shows or movies or books, etc.
I am going to go to my doctor about it so don't worry too much. But honestly, man, its complete hell.
Sorry for telling you this, but I don't have many friends and it helps me to talk to yourself about it.
Again, guys, I don't have many friends and talking to you guys really helps. So sorry to hear about the end of your relationship and the anxiety you're feeling. I was told I also have anxiety and that is why a doctor prescribed cannabis for me (not the kind you smoke but the oil or gummies or other edibles). It is legal here in Canada. I guess that won't help you much over in Scotland but I just wanted to sympathize with you and let you know that I think I know how you feel. Again as the old saying goes "Time heals all wounds" which may not help at the moment but just know that as time goes on things will get better - sending you lots of love and green lights, Ed edwardjohn

Thanks so much again folks. Emotional pain is often far worse than any physical pain. That is awfully distressing. 💔
Hopefully they can get you something to help take the edge off all the anxiety. Get to the doc soon as you can, and hold tight, kiddo. Love you Edders. 🙂🙏

Idk if I have ocd or not. I don't have a doctor or therapist. I worry about everything, money, bills, taxes, groceries, people...health.. you name it. I channel the worry into a single activity for hours, days, weeks and months until I burn out. Then, I move on to something new, until i burn that out. My son says I have the "too much gene", so I buy too much of one thing or focus too much on one thing. Worry over not having enough money or food makes me go overboard to save a lot, or buy too much chicken at the store. It can manifest in anything, books, clothes, yarn, chicken , fabric. Trying to learn to balance and calm myself. And then there is getting picked on for my behavior.."you're a workaholic ", spend the money don't save it, too many books. Then I feel guilty and browbeaten. The world is a hard place. There are still good people in it, though...actually right here on this board. We are fortunate to have this, thank you osnafrank. I'm sorry that your relationship ended, edwardjohn and that you're suffering. OCD sucks.

I'm sorry that your relationship ended, edwardjohn and that you're suffering. OCD sucks. You’re coping on your own the best you can. And I think you’re doing okay when you realize what you do and why, and are obviously working on it. When anyone picks on you, you tell them to go f**k themselves and the butt-ugly yaks they rode in on. They don’t know how it feels to you. 🙂

Hi, Wolf!
I'm not doing too bad. I'm having good days and bad days. Thankfully, its not been quite as bad as its been as of late. Anyway, I've been to the doctors and my therapist, so I've got some medication, and I'm going to have a bunch of meetings with my therapist, also.
Thank you so much for asking.

Better I hope. 🙏 Come tell us when you’re up to it, and are ready. 🙂 (I’ll catch up with things everywhere soon. Had some other things I’ve needed to concentrate on, lately. Some days I just need to make quick posts in the usual places around here, and leave the longer involved discussions for better days. I’m sure you can imagine. )
