What's the music that takes you back to great memories or just makes you feel good?
One of my faves is Journey's Stone In Love. No matter where I am or what I'm doing this song brings back great memories.
Here's a live version from 1981......I was 14 in 1981......

Most of the Beatles songs as well as the Beach Boys and the Bee Gees bring back good memories.

This one reminds me of my first year of high school (grade nine) - we actually had a juke box in our cafeteria where we could go early in the morning - I had to take a bus to school that got there quite early.

Nice thread!
For me, definitely these three songs by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They take me back to the best summer of my life; the summer of '06. smiley-essen02
And as an unusual bonus, this one... An online friend from Peru sent me this song, and I loved it. Same summer!

Great thread, Sundrop ! Good way to begin Friday! This song reminds me of the summer before senior year, hanging out at a place called Trace Creek - you had to park on the highway, gather all your stuff and trek about 15 minutes through the woods to get there - but wow - what a good time. Listening to southern rock, soaking up the sun, being young. When I am driving and hear that guitar riff, I'm right back there.

I haven't heard much of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, I've really enjoyed what I have heard. They seem to have a lot of energy!!!

Stevie Wonder can get me moving! He was such a pioneer in music. I think he was the Prince of his day. I also just want to stop the car and dance to this. Most of my music listening happens in the car.

This song is a time machine: youthful bliss, night driving with friends, tastes of freedom. We all have it for a moment...or think we do. I have listened to it four times this morning. How can you not be in a good mood while this plays? Great thread, Sunny.

Good one, Doc! When I think of 80s music, that's the kind of music I remember - Modern English, Simple Minds, Howard Jones.... I graduated high school in 1987. Good times.
