Six more months!
I like the look of it and I'm warming up to the changes made. It seems a little too flat for Maine but that's ok. I hope there are enough changes to entertain and entice new audiences without changing the main story too much. I like that they used original font used for title of novel. Red, too.
I hope a scarier, shorter trailer is released later. Something that goes for the jugular. Did you jump when
So far I like the little changes I've seen, especially what appears to be the children recreating some sort of pagan burial ritual for their pets (perhaps a nod to the Micmac Indians?). I even like the "Those woods belong to something else" line better than the expected "sometimes dead is better" tag-line. My only qualm so far is Jason Clarke, who always impressed me as a competent if unremarkable actor. Also, as you can probably tell from the trailer, he tends to mumble a bit. Nevertheless, I like this first look and I'm glad we're getting a new version. Oh yeah, and I like this cat. It looks like the same breed used on the cover of the paperback back in the 80s. Yeah, I had reservations about Clarke but I think he will do fine. The director and writer promised to make this version meaningful and realistic; I hope this is the case. Ultimately, fans won't forgive a horror movie that proves unscary. I like the cat, too. All these details from the original hardcover cause me to relax a little- I hope it bodes well for what we will see on the screen in April.

You and I are on the same page Doc. This is the scariest SK novel after Salem's Lot (for me, anyways) and I really hope they do it justice.
I noticed Lithgow hasn't adopted a Maine accent. I'm okay with this, as it would draw unwelcome comparisons to Fed Gywnne's classic portrayal. I like that the actors are bringing fresh interpretations to their characters.

I had to watch it without sound because I’m at school, can someone explain what the people with the masks are supposed to be? Perhaps it's part of a pagan ritual? Masks were worn in other movies, like the original "Wicker Man" movie, set in Scotland. I think people believed that the masks protected them from ghosts.

The new Poster That’s a pretty good poster, though I’d put the high beams of a truck as the background, giving forshadowing as well as intense light behind the main action of the poster,

I’m really looking forward to this one! The trailer was chilling and deliciously unsettling, so I hope the whole movie will be the same. Of course, I haven’t read the book nor seen the previous movie(s?), so I have nothing to compare it to. I’m still afraid of the book, to be honest, ever since I heard about Sai King’s own misgivings about publishing it. But I probably should do it before seeing this movie.

I absolutely love this phrase!!!! I'm going to try to incorporate it into a sentence at some point today!! c017

Hulu's streaming the original Pet Sematary again. I really need to grow a spine and re-watch it. Wanted to re-read the book first, so we'll see. I don't like movie theaters anymore - they skeeve me out since I heard about a lice outbreak. So, I have some time before the new one is released on DVD.

Early reviews are out, if anyone cares to check them out online. They are surprisingly (for me, anyhow) positive.

Don't watch this if you were annoyed about the plot reveal in the last trailer. But I have to say, this clip is...chilling.

I am willing to watch this new film, I think it might have potential. I'm sure about some of the changes or why they gave it all away in the trailer, but it will good to see more adaptations come out.

Okay, this movie came out yesterday - I want some opinions, Tet! Are you still trying to sleep with the lights on, in a fetal position sucking your thumb? (Okay, that would probably only be me. ). Can't wait to hear some reviews!

I heard from a dear SKMB friend who was very disappointed in the movie. Said the best part about the experience was the popcorn!
