It's about time. It only took 110 years.

This is close to my house. There used to be black bears in this part of Florida long ago but they were all killed off. I think they were gone in the 1940s. Lately there have been a couple of sightings. This sheriff's office is a long way from any wooded area so I can't figure out where this bear came from or where it wandered off to without walking down a road.

It's my pleasure...the pics from the JWT fascinate me. They look like a Van Gogh painting!

I didn't think about the bear being a pet. That's just what I first thought of, the way he showed up THERE outta nowhere that way.
(....and he weren't skeered of no Po Po! )
I need read it all. I didn't earlier.
Lol, did they follow him? 🙂

Lol, did they follow him? 🙂What seems so weird to me is that Florida Fish and Wildlife got him out of the tree and the bear wandered off on his own. That's fine if the sheriff's department was next to a wooded area but it's not. It's next to the high school and an industrial park. Did the bear walk down the sidewalk?
The black bears don't seem to be aggressive and I've never heard of a human having a problem but I still don't think you want a bear wandering away in a populated area.

(Bears of any kind can be flamin' crazy and unpredictible, and do a lot of damage/injury. Surely SOMEONE would have followed him to see what the hell he was gonna do and where...Mmm...he/she looks kinda young to me...but photos can be decieving.)

There's also a water park down the street from the Sheriff's office. Maybe the bear has been using the water slides at night.

Could the water park be parked close to someplace he/she wandered into town from? (Hopefully!)🙂
