I REALLY hope they don't screw this up. They have an awesome chance to really bring this awesome story to life.

I'm not too excited about this movie. I liked the book up until the ending (wish it would have had more time spent at the Overlook with the ghosts from the past).

Yeah, I'd hoped The Overlook would have figured into the story more than it did. I read it when it came out but probably need to read it again because I don't remember how it ended.
Do you know if Josh Boone still has the rights to Lisey's Story? It's been five years since it was announced he was going to write and direct the film adaptation. I'm curious if Duma Key, Revival, and Joyland are close to being made, also.

Sorry, Doc, but you're batting a thousand here because I don't really keep up with the movie stuff like who has the rights to this or that story/book. Got enough on my plate just keeping up with the books it seems.

I think it's another streaming service like Hulu or Netflix.

The teaser looks good, but boy does Mike Flanagan love his blue-tinted cinematography.

Here's the final trailer. Looks good but jeez, I wish Flanagan would quit with that blue tint on everything.

I'm so excited for this adaptation because of director Mike Flanagan. He did a fabulous job with Gerald's Game and The Haunting of Hill House series is an instant classic IMHO. The teaser and trailer bear witness to Flanagan's claim that he will merge the movie and book adaptations to his adaptation of Dr. Sleep.
Love the teaser - when that pipe organ kicks in - it's so Gothically Romantic!!
I believe this movie is going to catch everyone by surprise as to how good it will be.

Super solid adaptation of Doctor Sleep.
Beautifully acted and directed.
Need another viewing and some time to let it percolate before I make a final call.
Definitely in my top 10 Stephen King adaptations. Possibly top 5.
Love how Mike Flanagan takes time to build characters. And he really knows how to not only direct but edit shots too for maximum effect.
Also the sound design and score are also masterfully constructed to create the maximum amount of mood, emotion, and tension.

I don't go to the theater very often anymore, but I'm really excited for this film. I read the novel in hardcover in the week that it was released. I've been a huge Stephen King fan since I was in high school. I've read most of his books except for the rare ones that were hard to find. I don't have a kindle. I still buy books in their physical form.
