An interesting short about human nature. Can one learn from their mistakes and change for the better? Not so with this story. Once the subjects return to their youth, the wisdom one gathered in old age is gone. They were destined to repeat their mistakes again.

I think the doctor had a good idea on how this experiment was going to turn out. The doctor has accepted things as they are and does not wish to turn the clock back.
That story was quite different than other stories I've read by Hawthorne. The subject matter is still about desire and morality like the other stories I've read but this was a bit more lighthearted than the others.

The Discussion for next Wednesday will be The Hanging Stranger by Philip K d**k.
Philip d**k is known for his great science fiction tales turned into famous movies and TV shows like Blade Runner, Minority Report, Total Recall, The Man In The High Castle and a few others. This one is supposed to be more of a physiological horror type story although I have not read it before. Read slowly because he usually likes to write mind bending tales.
