Need some advice on a good, but not too expensive wifi router. Mine is ancient- at least 10 years old- a Linksys 2 antenna.
Planning on using a Smart TV ( cutting the cable TV cord) and the present unit appears insufficient. Lots of spinning. Internet carrier says I have 200 speed. I prefer not to use the wifi connection with the provider.
Both chromebook computers use wifi only. Then there are 2 kindles, and 2 cell phones. No gaming. Mainly computer and kindles.
Any ideas?

osnafrank, wiremanI have an existing eero wifi set up from Frontier FIOS with an eero 6plus running Wi Fi which is in the utility room. What I need to establish is an ethernet connection in another room in the house. The ethernet connection is to connect a work computer directly. What/ how is this done?? Any info will be great appreciated. Thank you.
The eero wi fi runs my tv and chromebook laptop plus kindle and cell phone.

IF so, just connect the work pc (via cable) to your router. I don't know those Eero's but usually, you can use cable and wifi at the same time.

The eero wi fi runs my tv and chromebook laptop plus kindle and cell phone. There should be 2 ethernet plug-ins on the back of your router (I looked at a photo online). They look like phone jack plug ins but a little bigger. You need to connect an ethernet cable to the router and run it to the computer. Since this computer is in another room, maybe you can move your router into that room so the ethernet cable doesn't have to be so long. If not, you need an ethernet cable long enough to reach the other computer.

Thank you wireman and osnafrank. You have made the situation much clearer for me. It is looking like I will need to move the existing router to the other room ( as it is on the side of the house from where the router is now.) Thank you for your help. Just call me a techno dinosaur!

My advice is to relocate the existing modem/router nearer to the TV and run a hardline ethernet cable to connect them. Wireless can degrade the signal quality. We had to do this for my son's playstation 5. Wireless kept dropping signal. Total pita.
