17. The Exorcist
I was 12 or 13 when this was released and I can remember how shocking this film was at the time. People were standing in long lines to get in to see it. There were reports of people getting ill while watching it and fainting in the theater. The churches were condemning it. Most of our parents wouldn’t allow us to see it but I had a friend that had seen it and us kids would all gather around and listen in awe as he described the scenes with the puke and the cross and the colorful language Blair used. I don’t think I saw it for a couple of years until it maybe landed on HBO. All these years later, it’s still a scary film. I’ve seen it many times and still enjoy seeing it. 10/10

You have the priests, played by Jason Miller and Max Von Sydow (excellent German actor) doing everything they can to save the life of a small child from a demonic entity. And we all know what happens to them in the process of doing so. And doesn't good ultimately triumph over evil? In fact, I think the church should have encouraged people to go to the theatres!

18. The Black Cat (1934)
This is a Universal horror flick that stars Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. In the credits, it is stated that this is based on the Poe story but the only thing this has in common with the Poe story is the title and there are a couple scenes where a black cat runs across the room. That aside, this is still a very good movie. Boris Karloff is creepy as hell in this and he plays a master of the occult with plans to sacrifice one of his house guests. 7/10

19. Billy The Kid vs Dracula (1966)
I’ve been watching so many classics this season, I decided I needed to try and find something bad and ridiculous. Well, I found this on Kanopy and it is bad and ridiculous. A great WTF moment at the end (No need for spoilers because no one will watch this piece of crap ) is when Billy shoots Dracula several times and his bullets have no effect on Dracula. With the gun out of bullets, he throws the gun at Dracula and hits him in the head AND KNOCKS HIM OUT. He then is able to drive a stake through the heart of unconscious Dracula.
1/10

Cool, lil Sis! Haven't seen those, but would like to! 😊 Thank You Big Sis! I Hope You Get to Watch Them! Have You Seen Any Scary Movies Lately? Hey Sis! Haven't had much time for movies, but the other night I did get to see,
"I Walked With A Zombie" (1943)
...on TCM before I fell asleep. That was always a favorite of mine, since I was a kid. It made me want to see "The Serpent And The Rainbow" from the late 80's again. As well as an old Bela Lugosi Zombie flick, that I cannot think of the name at the moment. Unfortunately. 🙂
I like the old classics on TCM a lot. Tom Conway has been a favorite, and here is Frances Dee in a still from that film. 🙂....

16. Trick ‘r Treat (guest reviewer’s first viewing)
Since I have watched (and reviewed) this movie several times in the past, I thought it would be fun to have my 16-year-old daughter Jillian watch this movie for the first time and review it here. Take it away, Jillian!
“Trick ‘r Treat is a fun horror movie with interweaving stories that all take place on the same Halloween night and are connected by the character Sam.
"Overall, I found the movie to be a lot of fun, and I particularly enjoyed the focus on Halloween, or Samhain, traditions. I think that the strongest parts of the film were the parts that focused on children because this film actually allowed the kids to be like actual people who were capable of cruelty and harm, which tied into Sam’s childish character really well.
"If I had to pick out the best story from the movie it would have to be either the story with the principal, just because it was really funny, or the story with the kids at the rock quarry because it was the most emotionally impactful. The only story in the movie that I wasn’t a big fan of was the part with the girls going to the party because I just felt like it didn’t have much of an emotional impact, it felt oddly disjointed from the other stories, and the effects, which I’m pretty sure were CGI, just felt really weird. In general, I really like the movie and I’d give it four stars.”

Zombies Sis. The original Voodu kind. 😊 Ohhh Cool. Did i Ever Tell You I Have Real Voodoo Books That I Got from My Aunty in Jamaica But it Called Obeah Over There an It Illegal in Jamaica. "I walked with a Zombie" was set on the Caribbean isle of Saint Sebastian.
And "The Serpent and Rainbow" was set predominantly in Haiti. But started out in the Amazon, as the lead character, Bill Pullman, works for a pharmaceutical company and is doing research.
(that's all I'll say, just in case anyone hasn't those flicks, and would like to 😊)

14. REC (3/5)
A television reporter and cameraman follow emergency workers into a dark apartment building and are quickly locked inside with something terrifying.
It is a well-made horror film, it's story telling method is based on "Blair witch project", we see the events as the cameraman does.
The lead character is extremely annoying , acting is mediocre.
The lack of a soundtrack works to the show's advantage.
