I’m going to do a little bit a bitchin’ about cbd oil and pot in general.
It was available here on Rx. Some people were prescribed it for anxiety, depression, and maybe other mental health issues, as well as for some physical health issues. Some were also prescribed pot to smoke, or use in a thing like a vape but for pot. (Sorry can’t remember name.) It was expensive. Especially since there was a bit of trial & error to get the right mixture. It was not covered by any health insurance plans, but it was deductible on income taxes.
And then....it was legalized for recreational use.
And it became impossible to find on the Rx sites. Buying the exact same stuff from a recreational store cost more and is not deductible.
End of rant. Righteous Rant Annamarie! WUITIIQGUyMrvFxIgkNw

Seems that the legal stuff is actually more expensive here than the illegal stuff!
I hope I did that spoiler right!

Legal is more expensive than illegal.
But my complaint is recreational is more expensive than prescription. Plus you cannot claim it as a medical deduction even when it is EXACTLY the same product.
I know a few people affected by this. They had a long time to set it up, and totally messed it up.

I'm one of those people who know next to nothing about cannabis and CBD products. Learning as I go. Apparently there is Broad Spectrum CBD and Full Spectrum CBD. People on YouTube are saying Full Spectrum has amounts of THC and the other doesn't, but at my health food store none of the products contain THC, so I'm confused. I've been doubling the milligrams and seeing positive results.
If regular marijuana were to become legal in Alabama, I'd be interested in taking small amounts by pill to help with pain. But only if it was affordable and not habit forming. I don't want to ever be hooked on anything like I was when I took Vicodin-type pills.

doccreed are there not doctors you can speak to instead of just YouTube? Here, a GP or psychiatrist or psychologist will usually refer a patient to a clinic that deals only with prescribing weed. They will go through the various options, explaining how things should work. It still required some trial & error to settle on what works best for an individual.

I don't think medical marijuana has been legalized yet in my state. My uncle asked his doctor about it and the doctor treated him like he was a drug dealer or a scumbag. Doctors immediately believe the worst of a person if they ask about it. It infuriates me. So many hypocritical ways of thinking when it comes to medicine/narcotics. I am one of those people who think drugs should be legalized. I think they should regulate it the way we regulate alcohol and make sure people aren't driving intoxicated, etc. I guess it has its pros and cons, but doesn't everything? For someone suffering with pain, it is a helpless feeling. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I am fortunate because I don't need pain meds anymore and I'm not a chronic sufferer, but it would be nice if an adult could walk into any gas station or pharmacy and buy pain meds or marijuana the way one would purchase beer or aspirin. Chronic pain sufferers are at the mercy of doctors and many are treated like animals...or worse. Sorry, that was sort of a rant. It ticks me off. Thanks, Annmarie.

No need to apologize. 🙂
Until recently, alcohol could only be purchased here at either the Beer Store, the Liquor Store, or The Wine Rack. And those stores sell nothing but that. Personally, I was fine with that. Then, they decided to allow grocery stores to sell beer. OK, fine. Then our buck-a-beer premier decided to break the contract with unions and allow beer to be sold in corner stores. No...no need to change that.
Purchasing weed by Rx, you have to order on line. But recreational weed is now available at some stores that sell ONLY weed, and oil. They will eventually be selling edibles, but the government is still working on the laws. (They will have to follow Canadian labelling laws for other foods...list ingredients in descending order, etc. But also, plain packaging so as not to encourage children to eat and reduce the chance of a child accidentally ingesting.)
I’m not sure if gas stations here are allowed to sell Tylenol. I wouldn’t buy it there...it would likely be overpriced and expired.

Rules/laws for a major city like Toronto or Ottawa may not be appropriate for small towns though.

The medical marijuana facilities even make tinctures with the cannabis. Mixed with various carrier oils (olive oil, peppermint, etc.) just like the CBD. It is more effective than taking it in pill form or in edibles. Just something to keep in mind if/when medical marijuana is legalized in your state.

Medical, but not recreational. BTW, ask your health food store peeps if they carry a brand called Nanocraft. They make superior CBD oils.

Yeah, not a fun, glamorous subject. I noticed many of us here struggle with it from time to time. I've been spinning my wheels lately, kind of lost. I hold fast to my faith and I know God has not left me but this is a different type of pain and isolation. Much of it is by my own design but even in the greatest of circumstances a person can be weighed down with various mental afflictions...loneliness, stress, worry, you name it. With that said, I know I will be back to my normal self soon...it is just a mind game, a waiting game. What do you guys do when it settles over you? This thread is for people who have any practical advice for dealing with depression. I know it is different for each person but here's hoping something said here will help someone.
Anger. Be in a Rage. I'm not a religious Person(I',m an Atheist) ( i don't judge my Friend) so there is no one ...to...prayfor. Be in a Rage...against ...everything and everybody...thats Ok for me !! I meant to share this when you first posted. It made me think of this scene from The Walking Dead Season 9. LOL{Spoiler}
"Find the rage, Rick. It's in there. Find it."

I think everybody gets depressed, seeing that it has become a problem, I think is harder when you are young. Things that helped me get through it were hobbies or craft, socializing without alcohol or drugs, exercise, thinking of family and a borrowed imaginary magic hoop, that would relax and protect me. I still use the magic hoop when needed.

If I want to be more proactive I'll settle on something that needs to be put right, which in my house can be any cluttered space. Straightening it out usually gives me the impetus to break out of whatever funk I'm in.

I think that everyone goes through a period of depression at some point in their life. Some folks are in a severe state all the time, some are in a mild state all the time. Some folks go in and out. Money is not the cure. Depression is not just for poor folks.
I think creativity is a close to a cure as we can get. Yes there are therapies, medications, and treatments; but expressing the feelings either publicly or privately by writing, music, art, cooking helps us to manage the depression.

Thanks - I'm glad it's not such a stigma as it was in the past.
Another thing that helps a lot of people is to spend time with a pet; I love it when one of my cats snuggles up in my lap
