@wayoftheredpanda - Poor kid! It wasn't your family's fault though - of course his mom was understanding. I wouldn't blame my kid's antics on someone else. We were at the park and my son (when he was 5) was pretending to be Spiderman. While I watching he flew threw the air making a leap for monkey bars that were too far away and ended up breaking his arm. My poor lil guy. No one's fault but his though. He was fine.
I can't think of an awkward family situation. I think we're all so awkward that it feels normal.

Yes, but there are parents who will turn anything into a court case when their child is wounded under the watch of someone else, might it be a scrape on the knee

I have a question - what time do people usually go to bed (for Board members here)?
Also how much sleep do you need on average?
I go to bed around 11:30 Sleep - Usually 7 hours, sometimes 8 (then about 2 hours walking around in a daze).

Anaphylaxis. I still have the allergies though. I like your new avatar! Those cupcakes look delicious They are potty-training cupcakes. Lol DGD is not interested in giving up her diapers. So I bribe her. I promised if she peed in her potty she could help me make cupcakes. When it came time to ice them, I remembered I had bought these peanut-free eyes and asked her if she’d like to put them on.

What was an awkward situation your family has been in? At my sixth birthday party one kid fell off the top of my playground/swing set thing that he had climbed on top of and tried to block his fall with his arms like a five year old would naturally conclude to do, broke both his arms, it’s suprising how understanding his mom was. This reminded me of a situation. We were on a train going to PEI. I was about 8. I somehow met up with a brother & sister and was playing with them. My dad came over to sit with us, and when he heard the kid’s names he said to the mom, “There used to be a boy on our street with that name. Everyone called him Horrible Harold because he was just such a horrible kid.” The mom then says “I used to live across the street from you! Harold went to your daughter’s 6th birthday party”.

I'll have think about this one, I'm sure I'll remember something. Although there was this one time when I was about six or seven and went grocery shopping with my mother and grandmother. Naturally I wanted all kinds of goodies, which naturally I didn't get. So I hid a mackerel under their shoppig bag in the cart. It wasn't gross or anything, it was very well packed. But they didn't notice and I forgot, so after paying for the items we walked right outside with the mackerel under the bag in the cart. They were pissed when they found out...
Technically I stole a mackerel.

Does as much sleep as I can get possible an answer. Though seriously, I think about 7 hours is good.

What’s a childhood memory you have that whole emphasizes your childhood decades weird trends? (For example think of if your childhood was a movie, what one scene would make it incredibly dated?)

2 scenes actually. The phone had 3 numbers, and it was a 'party line'. We had 2 TV stations.

- I was supposed to be with my older brother and/or sister but sometimes we would get separated. My Mom worked nights as a cleaner at CBC in Toronto, so was in bed when it was time for us to get ready for school.
I can't imagine a 6 year old being allowed to go anywhere alone these days, especially in a big city like Toronto.
Another weird little memory was that of the nuns parading us off to the church on certain Holy Days (when it wasn't one of the days we actually got to stay home). If you didn't have a hat they would pin a Kleenex to the top of your head with a bobby pin.
I also recall using a hula hoop in the backyard - would spin that thing for what felt like hours without ever getting tired.

Are Hula Hoops a thing of the past now? I won seventh place in an elementary school hula hoop contest once, I was super proud of it.

I can guarantee you they’re still a thing, elementary school gyms had quite the collection of them.

Doing fine, keeping a grateful heart. I'm feeling good this afternoon. We missed the direct path and received light rain. It's a nice fall day and by next week our nights will finally reach down to the fifties.

All the girls wore platform shoes because of the Spice Girls. I wanted some too, but I didn't get any. I got a sand-coloured pair with semi-plateaus though, but that didn't count to me.
