It's approximately minus 3 C (I know that is below freezing in F) - okay - just looked it up and it's 26 F
So the tech to fix our furnace came in - bad news/good news?
Think I will do the good news first - we do not need a NEW furnace
Bad news - it will cost over $600 for a new circuit board. Since we were getting that anyway, I asked for the price of a new humidifier as the one attached to the side of the furnace is kaput. - That will be $685 - yikes!
It costs $95 an hour for labour so all told with taxes I'm guessing we are looking at a pretty high bill.
I suppose I could call another company and ask for a second opinion but this company has a very good rating with the BBB so I'll just have to trust them
That's a fairly hefty bill neesy, unfortunately these companies can pretty much change what they like, the have people over a barrel.

I am now having second thoughts after Googling and looking at YouTube videos. Apparently there is something called a flame sensor that would cause this cycling off and on problem and on top of that it's a simple fix
It's early here so I have to wait until 9 a.m. to call someone else but I think it's worth getting a second opinion.
The part that got me is that I could hear her on her phone describing the problem to someone else then I heard a guy's voice giving her advice. I don't want to sound S*ex*-ist since it's not often you get a female mechanic, but that didn't do a lot to instill much confidence in her.
I paid the $139 for the service call as she was here over an hour and she said she would order the parts, however they wouldn't be in until Friday or possibly Monday. I did not sign anything so there's no law saying I can't look for a new company to come over and confirm her suspicions.
(I had to put a hyphen and asterix up above as it kept changing it to "Saxist"

Was pretty nice today. 68° and the sun was out for 4 hours. Right now it`s pitch black and heavy rain has started.
Woo hoo, lightning.

We had a front that is moving through and dropping our temps into the 70s. There was a weather guy this morning giving the expected wind chill temps.

There's another tropical system under Cuba possibly headed our way. I hate to say this but right now it looks to me like it's turning towards the Gulf and could go right in the same place as the others did.

Looks like a couple days of nasty weather in store for us as we are on the East side of tropical storm Eta. 35 mph wind and lots of rain.

So far not much rain, that will depend on feeder bands. Windy all day yesterday, stringer today. They closed the Skyway. I am high enough so flooding should not be an issue. Wind is-- woods. Looks to be a week of wind and rain!
They still do not know how close to west coast or how far north. West side, bad side. You stay safe.

It's amazing how far away the storm is from us and how much rain it's still giving us. I looked at the radar and our area seems to be the only place in Florida where it's raining like that and we are about to float away. I woke up at 4 this morning with torrential rain pounding the windows and it's still pouring.

We had a front that is moving through and dropping our temps into the 70s. There was a weather guy this morning giving the expected wind chill temps. Sheesh. Wind chills in the 70s? 😄😄😉😉 We had a day a couple weeks ago where our wind chill was -9F. In October. Had to turn the damn heaters on for the season.
