Lost my first post, so try again. Very hot again today and thick smoke, its tough breathing. Supposed to get a t/storm soon. Lots of rain and no lightning that starts more fires,(I hope).
Downloaded this pic a few minutes ago from the live cam.
That foggy space in the background is the lake and mountains covered by smoke.

They seem to be getting 1 or 2 of the biggest, well at least making a bit of headway then lightning starts and the firefighters loss ground on the bigger ones and several more start up. I heard at Noon there are 500 wildfires right now. Two homes burnt to the ground last night in the city because of spot lightning. Its pretty grim in the Valley right now.

They seem to be getting 1 or 2 of the biggest, well at least making a bit of headway then lightning starts and the firefighters loss ground on the bigger ones and several more start up. I heard at Noon there are 500 wildfires right now. Two homes burnt to the ground last night in the city because of spot lightning. Its pretty grim in the Valley right now.

Thanks Morgan. The firefighters look exhausted. In Penticton tomorrow they are having an appreciation BBQ from 1 until 4pm for them. Penticton is about 1 1/2 hours south of here. It is their annual Peach festival this week end and there will be lots of people thanking them.

Well we had a touch of rain last night and very high winds. It is overcast today and sur looks like rain is going to start any minute. It was 37degC yesterday and it is 12dgC today, big difference.
Heavy smoke today.There are mountains in that smoke barrier.

Not as hot the past few days, around 30deg. The smoke is very bad from the 600+ wildfires. It is hard on the breathing, many wearing masks. Heard that it hasn't been this bad in 20 years.

We have a nice Day of Rain so far, hope it continuesNice to hear someone is getting rain. Evacuations during the night of 2 towns -- Kimberley and Burns Lake. The Ministry said they will not get back home for weeks. On the News this morning President 45 was quoted as saying that Canadian lumber is responsible for the California fires. So far, cannot find any further information about this. It is only 7:30am here, maybe more info will show up later in the day.

Neesy, we have 5 A/C's in the house, and it is quite cool in here. I sleep under a blanket at night because my room is the coldest. I love it! I'm all snuggled down.

Its brutal. Yesterday and now today, at 10am it is like the middle of the night because of smoke. Many people wearing face masks and seem to have a constant sore throat. Second day for no sun. Fires have entered the city, houses burning in the south end of the city (where I live). Just seems to be no end in sight. 300 armed forces personnel arrived Thursday. (Thank you for coming) AF vehicles and personnel are everywhere in the city, they work so hard.

Are you safe, Sandy? Do you need to get out also? So far, we have heard nothing about us in the building being evac'd. It is usually done at the last moment and you are given about 15 minutes to get out. It's where to go to, that's the problem. My tenant insurance covers my going to a hotel, but its whether or not there are still any vacancies. If not it will be a shelter and not crazy about that idea. Right now its wait and see. Thank you Morgan for thinking of me.

It's about the same as yesterday except a lot cooler. It's about 8dgC and about 9:30 am. here. Everything is so still and so quiet.
