The Cranes are back, spring is coming.
44° and gray today. Hey, frank, You are above freezing temperature and that's a keeper. Gray sky, not so much, but if you aren't having rolling black-outs it's good. We only had one sunshine day this week and no days above freezing and horrible wind-chills. We saw a few robins and a cardinal two days ago, so I took that as a good sign. Hang on for better weather, because it's coming. ((((((frank)))))) Did the robin you saw look anything like this?
I've been seeing reports out of Texas - that is quite the freak storm/cold snap!

I don't know whut the hell is goin' on right now, but there's city trucks startin' to get to work on something down the street, and say the water may be off for awhile...goddamnit... 🤨 Filling up the bathtub and plenty other containers to have what we need and getting ready in case the power goes again. Thank God, all is still on an even keel.🙂🙏🔥💖 Have had to haul water and heat it out on the patio...etc... before, so we're prepared for the next big deal to come along.🙂 Just found this on youtube while checking out other things....
At least they gave you a warning!
I wish they had warned us on Tuesday about the water being turned off, then we would have done what you're doing - good luck and stay warm and safe!
The only warning we got was seeing the City's Water Department trucks driving down our street. My son and a neighbor went down there where they stopped and asked what was going on.

Woke up and it was snowing again this morning with another 3 inches of snow on top of frozen sleet. And we’re gonna get another 3 inches from now till 4pm. I think I’m gonna find that groundhog and make me some stew.
Some things I come to realize this winter: I now officially hate the color white. I forget what the sun looks like. At a minimum wear flip flops when getting mail from the mailbox out at the road because rock salt hurts like hell on bare feet. If you temporally park in a spot someone has shoveled out in front of their homes for their car you are taking your life in your own hands. I love my bigass snowblower. If you live around here learn to drive in the snow or stay home. My toes should thaw out by March. Tahiti is looking better and better every day. I loath ice except when it’s in scotch. I need more scotch.

Spring has sent his harbinger today. 53° and sunshine. Up to 63° this weekend. smilie_wet_162

Wifi is working good, I can watch stuff on youtube but for some reason Hulu has been having a lot of troubles on their end, and hasn't loaded for days. I hope they get it fixed soon.

This is an European Robin.Yes - our North American robins are quite large - they also seem to be unafraid i.e. you can approach them slowly and the don't fly away until you get quite close
That's been my experience anyway
The first time Andy saw one he was surprised (being used to the smaller European one)
By the way re: weather - it's minus 6 here which is pretty warm, compared to what we were getting for a good two weeks there
Josh can actually walk to IGA today without risk of frostbite on his face
