LOL... I picked up a hat like Cousin Eddie in Christmas Vacation last year. That hat always made me laugh and so I just had to have one. Plus it will keep me warm using the snowblower in high winds. I live in the country... and don't care what I look like out in the weather... keeping warm means more. Anyway it's what them city slickers on their way up the mountain to the ski resort expect.

Awww...don't worry about it, bub. Just so long you and the family are alright. Glad you still got power! Like Frank said, this "snowpocalypse" looks pretty nasty. Thanks... Sure doe look purdy out there.

We get one or two of those ice storms a year. Really beautiful to see on the trees and wires but treacherous driving on the roads. lol, down here when it gets like that, most everyone stays at home and says, "I'm not going! And you can't make me!" 🤣 The people who do get are pretty good at drivin' on ice. We get mostly sleet and ice. 😊 I can drive on ice, Gran taught me. So it doesn't bother me. Now....bikes? LOL! Mountain bikes?....you can do it just fine! 😄 NEVER try it on a ten speed....that just ain't right.😳 You must be good if you can ride a mountain bike on ice. I remember I got my brother studded mountain bike tires for ice, one year for Christmas.

I remember one year I got my brother studded mountain bike tires for ice, one year for Christmas. The tires that came on my mountain bike worked just fine, thank God. Yep. Had to do that for a few years when we didn't have a car, when Gran was still around. Man, I would have loved to have had those "saddle bags" back then! 😄😉 But my pack and bike rack worked good and served. 🙂

My cellphone just started screaming at me...
Extreme Alert
Exit all roads and seek shelter.
(there were ominous warnings in the message but the it disappeared from the cellphone)

Hold tight. Keeping it all in prayers, Dio. Sitting in front of the fire. 'You Bet Your Life' with Groucho Marx is on in the background, and feasting on Red Raspberry thumbprint Christmas cookies. Things are good. Thanks for your concern, wolfie.

I only ended up with a foot of snow, two feet at spots with the drifting. Never lost power. Half done clearing everything up with the snowblower, and taking a break with coffee. Days like this I think the big Ariens snowblower was the best Christmas gift I ever got myself.

Unfortunately its equipped with shear pins for when a large object gets wedged between the augers and the housing, the pins break in order to protect the auger gearcase from incurring damage. A woodchipper is much more effective for that unwanted visitor job.

Looks like this guy wasn't quite so lucky:
There was another story from 2015 about a 4 year old boy who was killed and the snowblower was being used by his father (this was in Quebec too)
Sorry - this all sounds so gory - glad they have now introduced better safety features!

We are supposed to be 40 degrees Friday night. That's raining iguanas weather.
They can't function when it gets to 40 or below and they fall out of the trees.

Have you ever seen one and rescued it? The only time I saw a live iguana was at a resort in Mexico when we were down there for my oldest son's wedding

On December 20th we got about 14 cm (around 5 inches) of snow
Josh was out there with his shovel and he cleaned up both the front and the back entrances (he's a good son)

I have not seen any where I live. They are here but not to the extent they are in the counties South of me. In Palm Beach county and South of there, they are all over the place. They are causing problems because they like to burrow under houses.
