That thing has just hit 180 mph wind speed. I'm sending you my phone number via PM......if it looks like y'all are gonna have trouble, you get your wife, kids, and hounds up here. I mean it. Force should dissipate as it travels up the coast, but Wilmington, and your area will most likely see some flooding.
As for the "socializing", I usually visit twice a month during the summer, but I forgot to mark out my appointment book for September, so it's my own fault. After October, I usually won't visit until Christmas, then after New Year's, not again until May. It's a good thing neither of us is overly touchy feely.....
And also: Is that a land line? Been trying to send you some very special "pictures" all afternoon...
Oh almost forgot, asking for a friend... 
And I'm not feely either...

It's 5:30 am and the storm barely moving. It has started to get a little windy here but the weather is still pretty good. The forecast track is still offshore from me which is good but as slow as this storm is moving, the potential for massive rain exists. We are under a hurricane warning and if the storm stays on it's forecast track, we will probably get some lower end hurricane winds.

Checking in-- all ok here , so far. Am getting some feeder bands( the outer most parts of Dorian rains).
I am so concerned for wireman. It is possible he could have hurricane winds. Dorian is so close to the east coast of Florida.
S and N Carolina, please watch and evacuate if they tell you!
There is a slight change as it travels West North West. This could?? be the turn.

I took advantage of the slow movement and drove to Punta Gorda. I’ve got my mom and dad in a hotel with me (3 separate rooms for my sanity  ). I went for a walk a little while go (I’m staying next to a nice park on the Peace River) and got caught in a nasty storm (just like home ). So I’m watching from a distance now. It looks like my house is going to have hurricane conditions tonight and tomorrow but my hotel should be good. Punta Gorda is a very cool town. I’ve never been here before.
