I Just Reading Different Seasons right now an im on the Story Called Apt Pupil. This isa Dark Story im Quite a ways in it now were the Part where Dussander an Todd is both Considering killing eachother. im Wondering how this Story will end. It is Wild an Stephen Kings Imagination is so Cool to think of this One.

'Apt Pupil' was one of my favorites.
It is definitely a page turner you cannot easily put down for very long.
The film starring Brad Renfro and Ian McKellen is one of the best screen adaptions of a King story/book.
So was 'Stand by Me' too. I think so. 🙂
I had a hard time trying to decide who I was more disgusted by, Todd or Dussander.

I Just Finished This Story Last Night...all I gotta Say is Wow inever Expected it to Turn Out Like that.
Kurt Dussander Got Discovered by the Israelis an Then Killed Him Self before they could Take Him an Then Todd Bowden Went ona Shooting Spree until the Cops Took Him Out 5 Hours Later.

I got think about whether or not I have sympathy for them, and how much.
I have a tendency not to care much, for SK's story parents.
Some Example's are :
Arnie's parents in 'Christine'.
Bill and Georgie's parent's in 'It'. (...and don't forget Bev's dad too.)
Gordie's parents in 'Stand by me'.
'Carrie's'....mother.

When it comes to Todds parents....Kid's (especially smart devious kids) are good at hiding things, VERY GOOD....but I just don't know how a mother could not have sensed there was something seriously wrong with her child. It smacks of serious selfish neglect and not giving a damn to me. But...that's just me. 🙂😉 |

I don't think they stopped caring for or neglected Bill
(but from what I remember they were harsh with him)
because of their grief over Georgie.
(I haven't read 'It' in a very long time. Another reread I need to do)

ONE of the things that really disgusted me about Todd (even though he did have nightmares) was that he was so into and fascinated with all the "gooshy stuff".... and what he made Dussander do...he just rotten to the core. And I do not know how any parent could be so oblivious to his tendencies, no matter how intelligent and sly he was. He was so damn smart and observant and saavy in so many ways....HE FOUND AND RECOGNIZED Dussander....and instead of turning him in?....well, you know what he chose to do. "THAT is messed up, Daisy!" 😊😉...by the way, have you ever seen the movie "The Bad Seed"? with Patty McCormick? and/or it's remake "The Good Son" with Kieran Kulkin and Elijah Wood? So I would guess that they way they acted after the murder was because of IT's influence trying to get to Bill. But I haven't read that far into the book yet. It's a slow read, the Stan chapter took forever for me to get through. I'm current at Eddie's. wolf - I haven't read the short story of Apt Pupil, I've only seen the movie one time and that was many years ago. I just remember it having the kid from The Client and Gandalf. The only short story I know of cause I listened to it on YouTube was The Raft from Creepshow 2. I think it was directed by Bryan Singer as well. I am doing very well, just working on various personal projects that I do for fun. |
