May as well get the ball rolling on this one. Halloeen (2018) did so well that they went ahead and started shooting back to back sequels, Halloween: Kills is due out this October, was supposed to be this past October but well, Covid, and Halloween: Ends is due out in October of 2022. As Halloween fans know, the Blumhouse version of Halloween is the "new" Halloween 2, so the two future films will be 3 and 4. Much like the original Halloween 2, Halloween: Kills will take place right after the events of the last film with angry people creating a mob to hunt Michael down but they're badly misinformed idiots so things get messy. To quote the official summary of the film...
“This film is about community fear, paranoia, misinformation and crowd panic". Green says it's just a fun popcorn flick and they weren't playing into real life drama is going on right now, but go figure, right now we have a lot of people who fear asians, misinformation running rapid, and lots of crowd panic.
Since there's a film after Halloween: Kills its obvious Michael survives the mob, and just watch, innocent people will get shot or hurt who are wearing Michael costume while trick r' treating.
One thing I don't get is why they didn't give the last film a sub title since it wasn't meant to be a reboot of the original film, guess they didn't want to scare away new fans by making them think they'd need to go out and re-watch all the earlier films first, even though they'd have to see the first film to understand why Laurie was a mess.
Here's a pic from Empire Magazine, it shows Michael had no issue getting out of the house, big shock. I wouldn't say it's a spoiler, since its a well known face there will be a sequel, its already a given Michael is alive, and he was heard breathing at the very end.
For the record, still not down with them getting rid of the sister angle, they think it makes him less menacing but I think it gives him motive and makes him more menacing. But for each their own....
