The size of Townsend's nose scares me. The Who is one of those bands who made 2 or 3 really good albums and then just kinda became mediocre (imo). I respect everyone in the band, except Townsend, but I'll leave the reason for my dislike of him out of discussion and for your own research. He was a good musician but not a good person, which unfortunately goes for a lot of people. I don't have to do any research, I saw it all in the news when it happened. How old were you when it all went down? Something like 3? ....thanks for all the cheery thoughts for today Panda, awful nice of you man!Didn’t mean to rain on any parades, sorry. In a bad mood atm

See the thing is I remember it all when it happened. And at first it was really bad, the publicity and all. But later there were other news reports that came out about his 'research' he had done, because of some very awful things that happened to him when he was young. Sometimes you just never know. Let's just forget about it and do some more album covers 😄 I really like the Kansas art. 🙂
And the Judas Priest covers are badass! That last one reminds me of "Voltron"...just a little bit.😊

Great pic's Panda Really like the "Wake of the Flood" cover, it always reminds me a little bit of the painting "The Angelus".
lol, it's raining hard outside here, good day to be finding stuff like this. 😊

lol, it's raining hard outside here, good day to be finding stuff like this. 😊 Wake of the Flood is a top 3 Dead album. Missippi Half Step and Weather Report Suite are both godly songs, gotta love Jerry Garcia's soft voice with Robert Hunter's lyrics, although my favorite member of Dead has to go to Phil Lesh, he's definitely a top 5 bassist for me. 1973-1977 were their best years for studio albums for sure. Blues for Allah is one of the best albums ever made, imo. Terrapin Station and Wake of the Flood are close. American Beauty is also great but I'd hardly say it holds a torch to the 3 mentioned, though Box of Rain is one of my favorite Grateful Dead songs.

A girl in my Latin class was wearing a Dead shirt and I asked her what her favorite album was. She said she never actually listened to them. I asked her to listen to Blues for Allah and when she did she said she was expecting them to be a death metal band with all the skeleton imagery and logos. Yes, I always think Death metal when I see violins and turtles on album covers.

Controversial album among King Crimson fans but definetly my favorite cover art out of their discography

This was originally commissioned to be a Van Morrison album cover. But ironically I think the imagery in here works better for the lyrics of the album it ended up on. The title track of TRS is about the struggles of early 20th century immigrants in the concrete jungle of New York City, so a man having nightmares about skyscrapers becoming animal heads is quite fitting.

This cover is actually a photograph, not a painting. They got a dark skinned lady to model in a dark room and painted her body in these bright, reflective neon colors. So it gives the illusion of a person made up of orange and green paint as you can't see the person they're painted on. It's a neat effect.

The artist who did the recent covers for the Dio live album rereleases did a cool job of bringing Murray to life.
