I asked my dad about the photo with the fish and he said the house was pink. It was the small house that him and my mother lived in when they first got married. That photo was before I was born. I love the mysteries these old photos have. Here's one I found of me that is a mystery to me.
I'm at a pool on the ocean. When my parents took us on vacation, we did those long driving trips just like the movie vacation . So, they were expensive with lots of hotel stays, restaurants, attraction, etc. My parents never would have sprung for a hotel on the beach, we would have stayed at a less expensive hotel inland. I could ride to the beach on my bike at home, so they wouldn't have paid to stay on the beach. So where the hell am I? I never remember staying at a beach hotel as a kid.

Check out this awesome photo I found of my sister and a dog we had. I had to ask my mom about the dog because I didn't remember having this dog. She told me we only had the dog a few days because something was seriously wrong with the dog and it had to be put down. The photo with my sister is awesome.
Here's me with the same dog

Nice pix and a good story to go with them, too. I have almost the exact opposite dog story: I remember having a black lab for years....or so I thought. When I asked my Dad, he said we only had that dog for a couple of months and then she ran away. She looms large in my memory, I guess.

Found this one of my great grandfather with 2 mules in front of his house. I'm not sure of the year but he was born in 1892 so I'm guessing this was the 1910s.

Wow-it looks like a postcard. It is (sort of). I found a bunch of photos from that era that are on post card stock. Maybe they had them printed like that so they could mail them to people? You turn them over and there's a place to address them.

Anyone remember Bo Outlaw that played for the Orlando Magic? My niece ran into him at a bowling alley in Orlando (pre covid - I was deleting text messages to clear space on my phone and found this). How much does Bo have to pay for those enormous shoes?

That is so awesome! What year are we looking at here? I'm not sure but I'm going to guess 1972. I believe that picture was taken at Opryland in Nashville. I think we were there when the park was brand new and on the wikipedia page, it says it opened in 1972.

Opryland makes sense--with the giant guitar-people. I love looking at clothes in old pictures. Surprisingly, a lot of the clothes in this pic would still be acceptable today, although maybe not the plaid pants.π

π Priorities! My brother got lost once at a western-themed amusement park called Frontier Town. This was around 1973, so of course there were no cell phones and all they did back then was make an announcement over a loudspeaker. We found him hanging out in the βofficeβ with the staffβ a bunch of teenagers in cowboy clothes. He was stuffing his face with cotton candy and I was so jealous, I immediately wanted to get lost, too.
