Hmmmm. Not all of you are posting your pic. No fair. Here is me and my wife atop Mt. Nebo, Arkansas last weekend on our 35th wedding anniversary- Happy Anniversary!! And wishing you many more! Are you from Arkansas or were you all vacationing? I've been to the Ozarks, and I'm in Memphis, so just across the bridge from Eastern Arkansas. We are from fifteen miles below Oxford, Ms. at a map dot called Toccopola. Hotty Toddy! I have a sister in Germantown and one in South Haven so we may have seen each other in a book store and not known it. You look like a homecoming queen still, Holly. You too, Doc.  And folks y'all got to get to some of those places in north east Arkansas. Petit Jean, Mt. Nebo, Mt. Magazine, way way better than Texarkana or even the Ozarks and Hot Springs. Little Rock has Mt. Pinnacle which has a great view of the Arkansas river but it's a climb that will leave you walking like the letter A the next day. |

scratch I'm sad to report that I too am in a suburb of the almighty Memphis just a little further east than Germantown (sad because I'm a misfit here, Memphis is in my heart, and I work there still) . I have friends and family in Germantown, and friends in Southaven. And even friends from Oxford who I will be seeing this evening at a dinner party. You and I are not far from each other - probably connected by 10 or so degrees of separation. Hile, gunslinger! We are well met.

I should probably post a picture of The Haystack by now. I always like to put a face to the name too, so... I believe I did post one on the SKMB, but not here yet.  This is me last summer, on the most beautiful ship in the world (to me and my husband anyway!). |
