My top 10 Leo DiCaprio movies
1. The Departed
2. The Aviator
3. The Wolf Of Wall Street
4. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
5. Inception
6. What's Eating Gilbert Grape
7. Gangs Of New York
8. Revolutionary Road
9. The Basketball Diaries
10. This Boy's Life
I really like this list, but I must say that on my list, I would have to go with "What's eating Gilbert Grape?" first. Man, that 'kid' so nailed that part/character.
Then second, I have to go with "This Boy's Life". The kid hung with Deniro, and did a fine job of it. I think.
(I really want to get around to finding and reading that particular Tobias Wolff work, too.) I read the book a few months ago and thought it was very good. I think the movie was pretty close to the book although the book went into a little more detail about some of the events. Stepdad in the book was probably even a little worse than the movie.

Wow... thanks for that. Dwight was a major abusive ....you know. I really thought the movie was great overall, and felt like it must have been based on a really good book. ...I find it hard to explain...but there are some movies like THAT one...you can just tell Hollywood didn't mess around with it too much and ruin it. Trying to think of another good movie example ...but of course the brain doesn't do what it's supposed to sometimes. damnit.
I guess Spence, in Hemingway's "The Old Man And The Sea" is a good example.
That's just the first thing my memory managed to brain fart out.
"The Cider House Rules" might be another. Maybe. Sorry! Didn't mean to go so far off topic here.

In particular the scene where they CGI'd Leo in as Louis and Phillipe and Louis was circling his brother. His facial expressions as Louis were very good, though Phillipe did across maybe a little TOO timid...okay! Now don't talk to me anymore! smilie_wut_086 You know how I get carried away damnit! 😊😉

(Most will probably consider the 1995 "Quick and the Dead" to be nothing more than frivolous fluff of a flick, BUT it had HACKMAN...and Leo DID do a fine job of hanging with HIM in some scenes just like he did with Deniro. I think. 🙂)

Yes, I knew that was based on his actual life. His memoirs. 🙂....(I'd have shot Dwight's a$$ before I shot the damn turkey.)

Its written and directed by Randall Wallace, the guy that did the screenplay for BRAVEHEART!
