Currently watching the Rocky films slightly out of order. The first two are the gems but the rest of the franchise wasn't bad at all, and unlike most 80's films that touched on the American/Russian thing, Rocky actually went on a rant about how we all need to get along at the end of the 4th film, they didn't end it with him being like, "I beat the Russian... neiner... neiner". The one thing I'd have removed from the 4th, the stupid robot, I don't know what they were thinking with the robot thing, I'd say it was there to add levity but I think they were jumping the gun because around the same time Omni magazine was saying we'd all have personal robot servants by the late eighties. Maybe in another 20 years? Ya never know. Nah...Omni mag has said A LOT over the years. 😂
Asimov covered that 'terrorstory' in "I Robot". (so have so many others, just look at the whole Terminator series) Though they are coming up with those damn faulty self driving P.O.S' more and more .....to be continued on that. 😄 Love that "I Robot" flick!
"Its the goddamn ROBOTS, John!"😆😊 What was the better mediocre science fiction man vs creature classic novel adaptation from the 2000s starring Will Smith. I, Robot or I Am Legend?

Dang....I'm gonna have to think about that one. "I am Legend" was a pretty good remake. The versions with Price and Heston were both really good.

I think I am Legend was better than I, Robot but neither were really any good but the Robot movie was absolutely worse.

Though they are coming up with those damn faulty self driving P.O.S' more and more .....to be continued on that. 😄 Love that "I Robot" flick! When it comes to tech, I'm all for automated cars once they get things more "perfected", mainly for the elderly and those who like to go out drinking on the weekend. They can drive to the bars sober manually, then have the cars take them home if the car detects they're intoxicated, that way they don't have to use dial a ride. But we'll see how the tech goes. Maximum Overdrive for some reason comes to mind though. I Robot is a great story and I think that will be how robotics gets at one point, but damn, what a story but it's a story that I can't dissect without touching on some hot topics. Big jump, I mean he directed the Crow which was a good film but I Robot was superior, his writers did have a book to rely on while his writers for the Crow just had a comic, that may play into it but he also had Will Smith and as cool as Brandon Lee was, he didn't have Smith's talent. Smith is very versatile, he can do comedy without an issue, serious drama, or action, and all of it at the same time if need be. Brandon never got a chance to really evolve, he just got to do action and then he died, so maybe he would have gotten better or was better but we just never got the chance to see what he was capable of.

"That'll be the day", I might believe it after (all these years) they manage to make ceiling fan remote control units, photocells and photocells/motion detectors work properly and consistently for more than.....mmm.....say.....9 months to a year.🙂

I might believe it after (all these years) they manage to make ceiling fan remote control units, photocells and photocells/motion detectors work properly and consistently for more than.....mmm.....say.....9 months to a year. To be fair, that has little to do with the "tech" and everything to do with quality control, the tech is solid with most well.. tech, its just some of the companies, well many of the companies, cut so many corners and use cheap parts, don't put any quality into the work, just to make a bigger profit. But that's nothing new, its why the American car industry went down the drain for years, Honda and Toyota were putting out cars that rarely had issues, while Ford, well there's a reason people say Ford stands for "found on road dead", and I won't even say what many said Pontiac stood for, but they folded, and rightfully so, no quality whatsoever. Ford and Chevy were saved by the government, which they shouldn't have been. I'll never go back to an American made car, the Japanese make the best cars for the middle class. So automated cars, I have no faith in Chevy, Dodge, or Ford doing it right but I can see Honda or Toyota nailing it.

Well I finished re-watching all six Rocky films, makes a difference watching them in that quick of a time span.
Got to hand it to Stallone, two iconic franchises, not bad.
But I may be biased, Arnold and Sly both entertained me as a kid.
Another big muscle guy who wanted to be the next Arnold or Sly was Kane Hodder, he was Jason in a few films, and he had a small role in Shocker, it just didn't work out for him.

The studios just used him when he was young and could sell the lead action star character in those karate action flicks, that genre isn't hip anymore so he kind of became irrelevant. Now if it was to come back, he's too old to be the lead so his top star days are long over, but he did a few fun films before his 15 minutes wore off. A lot of asian actors who were hip in the US at one time but the studios lost interest in them, quite a few went back to doing Japanese or Korean films, so he may be doing some work in those countries.
As for today's movie choice, I went with the original Red Dawn. Its always been a fun film but no one from that film is really a big thing anymore, the whole young cast were big names for awhile but Swayzee died, Sheen screwed up his career and then got HIV, and no clue what happened with the others. I've seen a few in those really bad cable tv movies that older women watch, like the Hallmark channel films, but Swayzee would still be a top actor if he hadn't died. He had the staying power, even though he wasn't the greatest actor, I mean Point Break was a little silly, same with Road House, but women loved him due to Dirty Dancing and guys liked him as tough guy.
One of the cable channels is obsessed with showing Lethal Weapon films this week but they only go up to the third one, wish they'd show the Mad Max films instead though, Gibson was great in those. A lot of people obsess over Fury Road but the first two Mad Max films are so much better, they don't have the over the top action and special effects but they don't need them.

I honestly prefer that they rebooted the franchise to explore a new setting every game instead of just making every game another zombie oriented story. I've heard many good things about village, and Lady Dimitrescu, like I said, is uber popular with the internet right now. They didn't reboot the series, Village is considered to be #8 and a sequel to 7, or possibly a spin off, they haven't clarified, they just gave them new threats. As for survival horror, I still find it funny that Blair Witch: Rustin Parr is probably the best survival horror game, but yet many don't even realize it exists. The female character didn't have cool guns like Resident Evil, she had to rely more on her wits, and she had a flashlight that had a limited charge, and while it would recharge, the enemies didn't wait until it would. Blair Witch... talk about a cool movie, I remember the PR, it was handled perfectly. Being a former PR guy, even though it was for bands, I was super impressed, a lot of people did fall for it and think it was real. ...to be perfectly honest, when it comes to the original Blair Witch, I found the mock docu on ScyFy (when it was still SciFi channel) to be more interesting and more of a thriller than the actual movie itself. I really felt like the ads...etc...portrayed the movie as being far better than it actually is. It was kinda irritating to me that 'The Blair Witch' sort of kicked off all the other 'live action docu drama' crap that came out after it....kinda like all that unplugged crap that went on in the late 8o's and on.
(moving my post ONLY to 'Movies and Books discussions' thread, since my comment is off topic.)

I love Dirty Dancing. Absolutely my fave Swayze movie. Prefer it to his more actionlike movies like Point Break or Red Dawn. I watched Red Dawn last week, I think its just the tenth time I've seen it, it isn't dated whatsoever really, that kind of thing could happen, and going off the grid and using guriella war tactics, it would allow the Wolverines to last for a little while. They wouldn't have done as much damage in real life but they'd be able to do some. Its probably a movie militia love but its a fun film, so I don't care if they do or don't, and its really the only movie I like with Patrick. I'm not into romantic stuff, so Dirty Dancing and Ghost are out, and I wasn't crazy about Point Break and couldn't stand Road House. I've probably seen him in other films I like, I just can't remember them right now. Speaking of movies, I finally gave the latest Halloween film a second chance, and I did enjoy it a lot more the second time around. I still don't think they needed to retcon the original 2nd film to do their film, Laurie survives at the end of second film. But they wanted to get rid of the sister angle, but in a way, they didn't really. One of the characters is like, "I heard your grandma was Michael's sister' and she's like, "that's just a rumor people started". But whose to say the rumor is false? Her granddaughter doesn't know jack about her, it was Loomis who knew and Loomis is dead. Anyway, its a good film, I just don't know they didn't give it a secondary title, its confusing seeing it as a sequel to Halloween but having it called Halloween. Halloween: Laurie Is Batshit would have worked. Sequel is due out this October.. Anthony Michael Hall got cast as an older Tommy. I liked Paul Rudd as the older Tommy in Halloween 6 but they retconned that film, and he went to romcoms, don't think he'd do horror again. But Curtis bailed on the genre as well but had no issue coming back when her more mainstream career was over and she was doing yogurt commercials.

It was A Wild Film Liam Neeson Plays a Hit Man Who Was Working for a Irish Mafia Boss (Ed Harris) an Well i Dont Wanna Give it Away but They End Turning on Eachother After a Bad Event Takes Place.
Liam Was Good in This again Playing The Tough Guy With His Back against The Wall again But Ed Harris Stole The Show imo. Common was Just in The Movie this Times but Didnt Have Very Many Speaking Parts though. Has You Guys Ever Seen This Movie?
