Oh Yes @kurben How Could I Forget Sin City lol I Love That Movie. The First One More Then The Second though. What About The Faculty Wasn't That a Rodriguez Movie? Anyone Remember that One lol? I love that flick "The Faculty"! A really good campy-ish sci fi ride! (Seen this one Commander osnafrank ?) The cast, story and all. It was nice to see Piper Laurie again. And Josh Hartnett is always good in my book.
.....if you look at the ending credits, you see 'Summer Phoenix' had a very small very brief part. (....yeah, I'm one of the weirdos that enjoys the credits) You don't see that Phoenix sister much, like 'Rain Phoenix'. I think that whole family must have been artistic. Rain Phoenix looks so much like her brother Joaquin. 🙂

You Talking About The Death Sentence Movie With Kevin Bacon? Deviancy that's The Only One I Seen so Far! It was Lit though. Yeah, that would be it. He's no hero in that film, he becomes no better then them and he pays the price at the end. In the Punisher comics, he does get busted a few times but always manages to escape, Marvel didn't want him to be seen as a hero, that's why they always had Daredevil or Spider-Man try to stop him, and Daredevil beat the hell out of him at one point and he went to prison. As for Rose McGowan, she's burning bridges every single day. I liked her in Doom Generation, Scream, Phantoms, and one other film that I can't remember the name of atm. I also miss Liv Tyler, she's still out there but she's not doing anything I care for. They both kind of came up at the same time, the mid to late 90's...

@kurben I Agree About Sin City 2 it was Ok but Just wasn't as Good...The Characters in 1 Just Stood Out Alot more also R.I.P to Michael Clark Duncan Who is in Sin City 1 as Well. Frank Miller's work is always good, some of his ways are outdated, he still always makes women very sexual and dresses them skimpy in his comics, which carries over to his films. But they are equal to men when it comes to strength and taking care of themselves, I mean the prostitutes in Sin City may have been overly sexualized but they kicked serious a*s in the comic and the film, more so in the film. Dwight would have been doomed if it wasn't for them, well actually he was doomed in the comic, not sure what his fate is in the film since I haven't seen the second one yet. The comic was black and white so I liked that the film did the same with hints of color. But in the end, my favorite Frank Miller comic to film franchise would be 300, the sequel is even better but I'm not sure how much input he had in the sequel. But as I've said before, Frank Miller and Alan Moore are my two favorite comic book writers whose comics have become some of my favorite films as well. Its just amusing that they can't stand each other. If they were to work together, they'd create something wicked but that'll never happen... Going back to Tarantino, he borrows a lot from manga's and other things, which is why Kill Bill was good and I'm pretty sure he got a lot of ideas from some comic or manga when it comes to Pulp Fiction. I didn't like Pulp Fiction at all when I first saw it but several years passed and I saw it again and was totally into it. And what was in that briefcase? There's been talk that it was gold and even some that said it was their bosses soul. But whatever it was, Jackson was willing to die to protect it.

I finally got around to watching Rambo: Last Blood finally, and I was a bit let down by it since the last Rambo film was pretty good. But then I looked around and I came across an extended cut of the film, so I got a refund on the theatrical cut and got the extended cut, and its a LOT better than the theatrical cut. I think its only ten minutes longer but they build the relationship up more between Rambo and the girl he sees as his niece, which makes his revenge seem more warranted. Without that ten minutes, he went on a revenge kick over a girl that didn't seem to really be that important to him. While I liked the extended cut a lot, they still left out one thing. At the end of the last film he finally goes back to the US but we just see him walking down a road. At the start of the new one he's living at his fathers ranch, which is now his ranch, and ten years has gone by, which is realistic since the last film came out in 2008 I think. But he's living with this old lady at the ranch and her grand daughter, and its obvious he's been friends with the old lady for I guess ten years, and he's practically raised the granddaughter.
Basically, they took big parts from Man On Fire when it comes the Mexican cartel issue, and the revenge part of course, and they took parts from Taken since the girl is abducted by slave traders, and then they gave it a gloomier outcome and added far more graphic violence.
In short, I watched it twice already and I think its going to end up on my top 5 favorite revenge films. But if they're smart, they won't make anymore. Rambo is old and beat down, and he's all alone again, and he said he'd continue to live for those he lost, and at the end, it shows clips from the earlier films and then he rides off into the sunset on his horse.
I'd use spoilers but it's not a new movie, it came out three years ago, I'm just behind.
Tomorrow.. I may watch Kill Bill since talking about those movies got me re-interested.
Dunno.. also watched to watch Costner's Robin Hood, its my favorite Robin Hood film. As much as I adore Ridley Scott's work and like Russel Crowe, I didn't like how they changed the story. I like the more traditional story...

I've seen them before, so this won't be the first time.
I enjoy them when I watch them but they're a little corny but in a fun way, I just prefer more gritty serious revenge films like Death Sentence and Man On Fire. However, Kill Bill still rocks regardless.
I had to get a new monitor today, the one I had for nearly 20 years went and died out of the blue, came back inside after going outside for a smoke and it was dead.
But it was almost 20 years old, at least I'm hoping it was age that killed it and not the Sims 4. A game shouldn't kill a monitor though, it can kill a video card but not a monitor.

Ok, I got around to re-watching both Kill Bill 1 and 2 back to back, I usually watch the first one and then the second a day or two later.
My original opinion on the films is still the same, its a campy revenge story.
But regardless, my revenge film list has changed.
1. Man On Fire 2. Death Sentence 3. Rambo: Last Blood (extended cut) 4. The Crow 5. Taken
Last Blood is just intense and Stallone delivers. I just wish a few of the bad guys had a bit more going for them, much like the last Rambo film, they were just there for him to get payback. That's why Man On Fire and Death Sentence probably will always be my favorite two revenge flicks, the bad guys were given a lot of material.

I re-watched Alien today, went with the DC verison, the theatrical version just isn't the same. Every time I watch that film, I find something new that was really creepy that Ridley did, I mean Ash and Ripley's fight was creepy to begin with but today I noticed the tail thing with Lambert, I remember her screaming all the time but the tail thing was a little creepy, was the alien messing with her psyche wise? I like all four of the original films, Aliens is good regardless if its theatrical or special edition, Alien 3, it has to be special edition, the theatrical was a little messy, and the 4th, its just fun. But the first, talk about a lot of psychological terror and a lot of interesting overtones. I saw it when it first came out at the theater, think I was six when my dad took me to see it, and it tripped me out.
What I wanna know is why did fans of Predator and Alien want a crossover so badly? It may have been Predator 2 since it showed an Alien skull at the end, so fans were probably like, "I WANT TO SEE THEM FIGHT". I think they were just paying homage to Alien but accidentally opened the door to a big demand for a crossover. Well, the two films kind of bombed but the video games did very well.

I'm actually watching Resurrection right now.
Out of the original films, it isn't as good as the first three, but its still a lot of fun.
Ridley is working on the sequel to Covenant right now, which still takes place before Ripley "exists" but he's going to do one or two more films and end things where the first Alien film starts.
In short, I like all of the Alien films except for the Alien/Predator films, I just found those to be silly.

When it comes to the Alien movies i think the weakest one is the third. The other three is really very different movies. The first is a very good horror movie. In Space noone can hear you scream. The second is a pure action movie, very well made. And the fourth is the one that is closest to a SF-movie. For me, the third one on the prison planet never really had a lift off. Not thats it bad but its far from the other three. But the first movie will always be my fave alien movie. I think it was a mistake to crossover the predator and Alien series. Never really thought they were very good.
I can see the interest of making a prequel (Prometheus) because the Alien had to have come from somewhere so it was a logical idea but it did not come out great i think. It needed a better script and a bit more pace.

The special edition of the third, the way Fincher wanted things to be in the first place, is more of a psychological horror film. I'd actually put it above Aliens but Aliens has Hicks and I like Michael Biehn's performance in the film, and Weaver really gets the female empowerment in that film more so than the first film. In the first film she just kind of gets lucky, in the second she goes toe to toe with the queen, and there's that famous one liner from that battle.
Studios, like some major labels, are detrimental to art in many ways.
A lot of films are just going to vanish because the studios just put out films that had "hip themes" at the moment, a film needs to be be future proof and the best way to get that is to give the direct free reign.
