So I was looking at the cast for the new Stand miniseries and I noticed something. Do you see it?
James Marsden as Stu Redman
Amber Heard as Nadine Cross
Greg Kinnear as Glen Bateman
Odessa Young as Frannie Goldsmith
Henry Zaga as Nick Andros
Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail
Jovan Adepo as Larry Underwood
Owen Teague as Harold Lauder
Brad William Henke as Tom Cullen
Daniel Sunjata as Cobb
Ezra Miller as Trashcan Man
Alexander Skarsgård as Randall Flagg
Nat Wolff as Lloyd Henreid
Gordon Cormier as Joe
Eion Bailey as Teddy Weizak
Katherine McNamara as Julie Lawry
Hamish Linklater as Dr. Ellis
Heather Graham as Rita Blakemoor
Irene Bedard as Ray Brentner
Natalie Martinez as Dayna Jurgens
Fiona Dourif as Rat Woman

Where is Ralph? Is Ray Brentner supposed to be Ralph?

I see plenty to be worried about, not sure what you specifically mean in this instance.
However, now that the series has begun, I'm curious to know what those of you who have seen it think. I have been reading some pretty mixed reviews online, some of which bears out my own suspicions about the decisions that were made.

I was concerned about the gender swap for Ralph. I saw the first episode and I must say I don't know yet, in some ways they changed a bit and in others they are strangely faithful.

Did anyone watch this? (Try to avoid spoilers, please.)
We now have Prime, so we are planning to watch it. It’s been a very long time since I read the book, so I might enjoy even if things are changed.
I’m not impressed with the cast. Really dislike Heard. But I love Skarsgard.

We binged it this weekend.
it’s been a very long time since I read the book, but I felt it was reasonably portrayed. There were some updates, like Larry having a smart phone, but it did not take anything away.
I think a few characters that were male in the book were female in this movie. (The rat person and the old lady judge.) And I think there might be a new character, Ray. Was she in the book? Or may have been male in the book?
Regardless, none of these changes harmed the movie. I found the beginning very confusing as they flew back and forth over multiple time periods, but it all worked out in the end.
My husband never read the book. He thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and didn’t need me to fill in blank spots.
