I Not sure What this Secret Santa Means can Somebody Help Me Please? This is what Secret Santa is: Not real gifts. These are pretend gifts for members of the board that you will be matched to by a random hat draw. It is giving gifts to a member you are matched with from the sign up sheet.
First members sign up to be part of the Secret Santa. Then a coordinator volunteers to keep track of the names/ and after the close date for sign up-- Each member will get a MESSAGE with the name of the person to whom they will posts gifts.
Dates will be given to post your gifts, which are placed under a spoiler ( which will be your cyber wrapping).
****@admin-- closed thread will be needed for the gift giving group.
These participated last year:
Dana Jean Spideyman thekidd12 Wayoftheredpanda HollyGolightly Sundrop Kurben cat in a bag FlakeNoir osnafrank ghost19 Tery Neesy Edward John niro GNTLGNT
DiO'Bolic mentioned being an alternate if needed
This link will give you an idea of how the gifts are given out
stephenking.com/xf/index.php?forums/secret-santa.324/ Okay it's 4:47p.m. C-Time here! Frank it's 11:47 p.m. for you, I do believe!
One last call for participants! Checked the Lady's list above for other members who done this before.
Sundrop ? ....hope you'd like to come back and do this! 😊 thekidd12 ?....how 'bout you, Nuke? 😊 hollygolightly ? 😊
@wayoftheredpanda ?.......hope you would like to come back and do it again, too!
....am I wrong....or do we need one more participant to make the roster an even number? If so, and we end up having an odd number of participants, I volunteer to pull double duty if needed to. Or to be drawn from others you might also volunteer to do that. 🙂

No, you're not obtuse @kurben . 😊 That would be me! 😄😉
I've never done anything like this before, except for the Halloween Story, where we were drawn for a certain order to write...etc... I didn't know if this type of thing needed an even number of people participating, or not. And really didn't have time to take time to reason it out, lol. 😊
.....just made that post real quick to rally more troops before this thread closes, Kurbie. 🙂

@kurben, wolf It helps to have an even number of participants as you will be "paired off". If an uneven number occurs, someone usually volunteers to do two people.

Hey Tet, I am coming in just under the wire, but I would love to participate!
I am recovering pretty well from my knee surgery, but only on the computer for a couple hours each day. I would be happy to talk with the organizer (neesy?) to explain how I did the assigning of gifts. Note - it does not matter if we are an even number or not. I used to use the Random.org sequence generator. As each person signs up, they get a number, 1, 2, 3, etc. Then when time to assign, you go to the Random Sequence Generator and ask for a random assortment of all of the numbers you have. Let's pretend it was 5 people. 1 - Rudolph 2 - Santa 3 - Blizten 4 - Buddy 5 - Vixen Random sequence comes back with this - 2,5,1,4,3
That means it assigns like this Gifter - Giftee Rudolph to Santa Santa to Vixen Blizten to Rudolph Buddy to Buddy Vixen to Blizten
Of course, Buddy can't be his own Secret Santa - when you have more folks this may not happen but it's a good example. At this point, the organizer can choose to move someone around, or just randomly draw a number from 1-5, then switch that one with Buddy. For example - if we randomly draw a 2, then we swap Buddy and Santa and it looks like this. Gifter - Giftee
Rudolph to Buddy Santa to Vixen
Blizten to Rudolph
Buddy to Santa Vixen to Blizten
Hope this helps!

Thanks for this and sorry but I have been having a few headaches recently and no it's not Covid! I did get tested and it was negative - Yay!
I just woke up recently and I'm not completely awake yet.
Thanks guys!
I've missed you - I came back here and noticed I had 19 notifications in my profile so it must be fate lol

Big hugs to those who thought of me. I won't be able to participate, but hope it brings tons of joy and smiles to everyone. Xo Oh shoot! That's a shame - hope you're doing okay.
In Manisnowba lol that's a joke (Winterpeg Manisnowba) we're all just waiting for the news of a vaccine and hoping that eventually things will improve as we're spending so much time at home and it's taxing on the old brain cells.
I think I will start doing what Josh has been doing - going out to Kildonan Park for walking exercise - I'm sure that will help my mental health.
