"Donnie Darko" is a real Think Piece. One really has to watch it AT LEAST twice, and pay close attention to the details, to get close to getting a grip on what is going on in there....you have to think outside the box, and consider things like the 'Butterfly Effect' (and I am not referring to the movie by the way) and the ever puzzling and sometimes confounding and irritating, 'Mandela Effect'. As well as other things...theories, beliefs.... etc...
I personally got a lot from the movie. And whatever they may do next, if ever they do anything, I am sure Jake Gyllenhaal won't be involved at all (with the exception of flashbacks.... maybe), and I would expect there to be a new storyline, set in a different place with different characters. But I could very well be completely wrong about that.
That's just what I would do, if I were writing the next installment.
Watched the first part of "Ramage" last night (while eating dinner), with The Rock. Dizzy , I do believe I remember you telling me about this movie not toooo long ago. It has a wolf in it (up to the point I've seen)....I'm going to check out more of it soon, and see if it turns out to be the one with the 'flying wolf' you talked about.....So far...I dunno if I'm going to like it that much....it's sad at this point. I am really liking Johnson's character and 'George' though. (Right now, I want the giant wolf to eat the cadre of hunters) And one thing I wasn't too sure about...There was a reference to BEARS being the strongest, most dangerous and lethal terrestrial predators and that it was unusual for a gorilla to kill or win a battle with one....I'm wondering if there really is any truth in that or did that for the movie. I can see how it s very possible, but Gorillas are extremely powerful. I'm hoping @kurben might know, or at least bring what he thinks on that subject, here or elsewhere, like your 'Favorite Animals' thread, or maybe 'Random Thoughts'. If this thread gets into anything too off topic, I'll watch it and move stuff if necessary. 🙂
A Gorilla is definitely the stronger animal. It can lift over 2000 Kg, about 10 times their own bodyweight. However a gorilla is not a predator. Left in peace it is a rather peaceful animal and not in the least predatory. Unlike the chimp that has actually been known to attack other chimps on occasion. But the reference is correct in saying that the bear is the strongest predator. After the bear it is probably the Tiger that is known to lift 500 kg heavy bodies up in a tree. But the strongest animal is the elephant that can carry almost 10.000 kg. And about battles between them.... They must in that case be staged as in their natural habitats they dont encounter. A gorilla is threatening and is defensive while a bear is attacking and offensive. So in a staged fight a bear would probably win thanks to its bigger speed and natural inclination to killing animals.

Yes but the gorilla has the obvious advantage of being an Ape so it’s instantly better at anything and everything those animals might usually be superior at.

What it was in the movie...the gorilla had been genetically enhanced (more or less) and was growing and getting stronger, he had been attacked in the zoo by a grizzly and in self defense killled the bear. He was in 'survival mode', his life was in danger.
The two doctors that worked with him were shocked and baffled at how he could have done that to a grizzly...and also they noticed he had grown significantly over night.
I was wondering if it was true, or if something they just made that up to make the story work somehow. Gorillas are so powerful, and can be so ferocious, I couldn't figure out which would survive a terrible battle like that. Thankyou for your answer Kurben, appreciate that.
....not feeling too good today guys, I'll try to around later. Y'all have a good day.
