Not sure if this is a good place for this thread...
Anyway I was looking up hotels to stay in near Bangor Airport for the final day before we fly out and it was encouraging me to book now! Only X number of rooms left! It made me wonder - they must keep one or two rooms open for people who just walk in or show up?
Or maybe that is a thing of the past?
I feel like phoning the hotel regarding that. It's probably dependent on how big the place is. That would probably determine how many rooms they could leave vacant.
I'm just wondering if there is anything else going on in Bangor the weekend of the 20th to the 22nd?
Has anyone had an experiences in regard to this?

Gee I hate to reply to myself but we did stay one night at the Sandman Signature in Toronto (actually Mississauga) - Frank @osnafrank thinks this sounds like a dirty word but it's actually a Native Canadian or Aboriginal word
If anyone wants to stay there I would recommend it - the only drawback for me was the lack of a bathtub - I like to soak in hot water.
But they did have an excellent shower, the kind with the shower head that feels like rainwater
How did you guys do with your hotel by the airport the last night?

Oh, sorry I'm just seeing this! I don't usually like to risk just showing up (I'm an over-planner) but I suspect most places around Bangor do have room most of the time. It's not a super busy town. The Pine Tree Inn was ok. Nothing fancy for sure and we wound up in a room on the end of the building where the floodlights are and the drapes would not stay closed all the way so there was light shining on me all night. The place was just totally renovated though so everything inside is brand new, which was nice, but they don't provide any sort of supplies for the kitchenettes (not even cups). I probably wouldn't stay there again on purpose but wouldn't turn it down in a pinch. The location to the airport really was super convenient for our early morning flight.

I don't suppose you flew on Delta did you? The lady we got was wearing dark glasses and when she took them off her eyes were all bright red and almost weepy. I asked her (politely) about her eyes and she said it was allergies.
Yikes! She looked like she had pink eye (conjunctivitis) - I don't think she should have been at work.
Thanks for the advice re the Pine Tree Inn!

No, we were on American on the way home. Delta didn't have flight times that worked for us or we probably would have flown them since we get to use their lounges. Sounds like maybe it was a good thing we didn't! lol

Ha!
I just discovered I left two King Kon shirts and a new pair of white capri pants in the hotel in Toronto (I had put them all in a LuluLemon reusable bag then forgot the bag there) - sheesh!
Oh well it's not like they were irreplaceable.
How is your dog? He's awfully cute in the pictures!
