Aerosmith ballads, at least the 80s and beyond, I hate with an absolute passion. Aerosmith is not a band I'm a fan of, but I can at least tolerate whatever isn't Crazy or Don't Wanna Miss a Thing, and I do think Dream On is a pretty good song. I don't like Steven Tyler as a vocalist already, but at least he's tolerable when he isn't doing ballads, which is like my opinion on Axl Rose and Ozzy. They can sound okay when they do fast music, but their voice makes my ears bleed when they try to muster a ballad. That being said, GNR would have been a much better band if Axl never joined it. I used to like Axl as a singer until I didn't. I think the songwriting of GNR is fine, Slash is a good guitarist, but Axl... Axl ruins it. |
