Well, Karen has had enough of driving a Ford! She left this morning to go trade her Focus in for a Chevrolet. She got a 2018 Chevy Malibu. It is a silver color. I haven't seen it yer, she is still at the dealer. They are detailing it, and giving it a oil change, and filling up the gas. She is happy! New job, new car! Go Karen!! Yay Karen! Funny how life twists you around like that. I just saw the picture of the car. I love it. So happy for your family. |

I remember that day - well, actually what I remember is when the wall came down - that was big news! Enjoy your holiday (I guess it's already tomorrow there, huh?) But it sounded like a peaceful resolution came about and that is worth celebrating!

I just got back from the store. Karen's car is awesome! So much high tech stuff in it! So many safety precautions too. She has a very nice car. I could actually stretch my legs out on the passenger side.

It was SO GOOD. I may never stop crying. You're going to love it. Usually at these early viewing fan events there's someone introducing the movie, handing out swag, etc. This one just had a video of the premiere before the played the movie, which was pretty lame, but I'm still glad I went so I could see it before my trip. Oh I can't wait - Thursday it is then!! I just checked, and yes, our local theater will have it then. 7PM that's where I'll be. neesy You crack me up!! If Bradley Cooper shows up at my local theater, he's mine! I hope your apt goes well - let us know how you are.babyblue - I didn't know you were having surgery. Wishing you the best! Prayers for you. From up here I can't tell who posted the beer bread - but that's some good stuff. I can actually make the bread successfully: 3 cups of flour, 1/3 cup of sugar and a beer. Bake at 350. His is slightly different - you have to type in the @ symbol followed by the word admin (no spaces) osnafrank

READY IN: 1hr 45mins SERVES: 8 UNITS: US
Makes a:
1 1/2 pound loaf
Ingredients:
1 1⁄8 cups beer (9 ounces)
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 1⁄2 cups bread flour
1⁄4 cup sugar
3⁄4 teaspoon salt
1 3⁄4 teaspoons fast rising yeast (or 2 1/4 t. bread machine yeast)
Directions
Pour beer into a bowl and let stand at room temperature for a few hours to go flat.
Place all ingredients in the pan according to the order in the manufacturer's directions.
Set crust on dark and program for the Basic cycle; press Start.
When the baking cycle ends, immediately remove the bread from the pan and place it on a rack.
Let cool to room temperature before slicing.
I would use this recipe but then take out the dough before it finishes rising - I knead it, put it in a regular loaf pan and let it rise until it's doubled in bulk. Then I bake it in a preheated 400°F oven for about 20 minutes.

I just got home from seeing A Star is Born. I loved it. I'm so glad I went. I love Bradley Cooper, but I have to say Lady Gaga stole the show. But that was the point - she was the star, he was in a tail spin. They were glorious. Go see it if you can. I went alone - but I wanted to. No one in my house would like it. I want the soundtrack. 5 stars from me. Lady Gaga shined.

I want the soundtrack. 5 stars from me. Lady Gaga shined. I saw Lady Gaga last night on a talk show - she has quite a level head on her shoulders - looking forward to seeing this movie tonight!

I'd like to see it again neesy ! Enjoy it. She is very smart. I think she's at her most beautiful when she's not all glammed up. She's got a unique look and voice - beautiful, talented and smart. It was great to see her in this movie. I'm going to spotify now to see if I can find some of the songs from the soundtrack. And to see if Bradley Cooper actually sang - I don't think so. But maybe. I know she did. EDIT: I just found it on spotify - he DOES sing. Don't spoil it for yourself though ( neesy ) wait for the movie to hear the songs. And this playlist/soundtrack on spotify actually has some of the dialogue - in particular the Memphis scene ! I'm thrilled. Pft - I need to get to work -Fridays are busy and weird around here. Y'all have a great day! Go see this movie if you can! |

Today I took a photo of this pathetic little birdhouse I painted a while back {a few months ago}. I felt sorry for it (it looked so cold out there so I brought it in). We have some snow on the ground, if you want to go check out "Your Creations" thread brrrrr!
