Is there a thread here for the Halloween movie marathon? I'm not finding it but would be surprised if it isn't around here somewhere. I want to log my first official entry of the season!
Mr. Blue and I are all checked in for our flight to Buffalo tomorrow. We arrive late so we'll be in a crummy airport motel for the night then we officially arrive in Niagara Falls Thursday morning. I am SO READY for vacation!!!!
But first, I'm going to the A Star is Born fan event with a friend tonight so I can be among the first Little Monsters to see Mother Monster earn her Oscar. <3

I hope he does something kind for you to make it up. I hope your mom is on the mend. You're a good daughter to take care of her like you do. Kindness comes back around - it will be OK.

Can't wait to see the handsome Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga do it. Let me know how you like it! What kind of event? We've got nothing going on here for it, just opening on Friday - but sometimes they are actually in the theater on Thursday - so I might go Thursday night.

Good luck, Neesy!!! Thanks babyblue - I was thinking about you and your upcoming surgery - good luck - I had that done way back in 2006 and it took me longer than six weeks to recover (I had to go back to see my doctor for an extra two weeks off).
Maybe I'll send you a private message about that if you don't mind?

I love Niagara Falls. We just to go every year and stay on the Canadian side with some friends. Haven't been since I got pregnant with my daughter, who is now 14. I'm over due for a visit! Hope the rest of you are well and good. We are playing at work this week. It's National Customer Service Week, and the majority of my floor is in Customer Service of some kind, so we are getting fed, playing games and winning cool stuff! I'm having the baking bread blues - first I tried to use the Express setting on my Oster breadmaker. Normally about half way through the cycle or whenever it looks ready I will take out the dough, then knead it by hand. I shape it into a normal looking loaf and put it in a bread pan for the final rise. Then I bake it in the oven.
Well duh - I got caught up here on this Board and then went to check on my bread - it had already started to bake! I don't like the way it turns out if it bakes in there. I took out the dough (it was already quite hot) and dumped it out then I tried to knead it but I ended up with some partially baked dry lumps. After picking out all these lumps I had a ball of dough about half the normal size.
So I put it in a smaller loaf pan and it's rising on the stove now.
Back to the drawing board - I decided to make a new loaf with fresh ingredients. The small loaf which is actually Honey Wheat will probably still be okay to make toast (I hope!)
Hey! This one looks good - I think there are a couple of bottles of McEwan's Scotch Ale I could use - maybe I will try this recipe next

Well, Karen has had enough of driving a Ford! She left this morning to go trade her Focus in for a Chevrolet.
She got a 2018 Chevy Malibu. It is a silver color. I haven't seen it yer, she is still at the dealer. They are detailing it, and giving it a oil change, and filling up the gas.
She is happy!
New job, new car! Go Karen!!

Anniversary of German Unification
Yeah, a get ready for Halloween Day would be great  So how many years since Germany has been reunified? Is this to do with how at one time there used to be East Germany and West Germany (hope I don't sound like one of those ignorant people who posts dumb stuff on-line!)
I was ignorant about this too until nine years ago, and they are my neighbours, go figure (I still feel stupid).  We went to Mönchengladbach on October 3rd that year for a nice day out. We had no idea the whole city would be closed and deserted... We asked someone if it was a national holiday or something, turns out it was. I felt so stupid... Now I will never forget the precise date anymore. 
In my defense though: History lessons are a joke here at school. ???
