I am waiting for the results of my blood test that was done yesterday. It will tell me how low my kidney function is.

Good morning, Sunshine! neesy I didn't see you over on the SKMB this week - hope everyone and everything is OK for you all! Andy made it back to his post OK? Today the Ogre is helping me get my classroom together to teach CGS this year. I've got the little kids: 3, 4 and 5 year old children. That should be interesting - and easier than the older group I've taught for 8 years. I told them to put me where they needed me and this is what I got. It sort of feels like a break, and I'll take it. I'm going to make something with the bone broth I made last week. Some kind of scrumptious soup and a bread - maybe vegetable beef soup and corn bread. No one but me likes homemade ramen so that would be a waste of my broth. Other than that: laundry, cleaning bathrooms, the usual. Heading out now. Peace! |

Well I have my fingers and toes crossed and everything else that's crossable that the weather is good. Have only been to one Pow Wow and what the First Nations people were wearing was absolutely beautiful. Never saw such exquisite cloths. See if I can find some pics I took. They moved so artistically and so fast that some of the pics came out as a blur of colour.

I love the men's fancy dance. That is when they have on a lot of regalia, and very colorful. What amazes me most is that they make the outfit.

No pow-wow for me. It is pouring rain again, and will be like this all day. I feel so sorry for the Indians that have to dance in the mud. They should have cancelled it.
Karen called to get the results of my blood test, but they can't give them to us over the phone. I have to wait to see my nurse this week to find out.

Trying to get back into some sort of routine now that the Fall is here - I did make a nice loaf of bread today that turned out quite nice.

My social worker was here today. She put me on a waiting list for a 'rest week-end' away from the family.
Hospice has a place where patients can go to get away if they like. She said the room is like a hotel room with a sofa, and table, and chairs, and a flat screen TV on the wall. There is a garden that you can walk through if you feel like it. She said the food is excellent, and I can take whatever kind of snacks I\ like with me.
I can't wait for an opening to get to go. She said she has bookings for it up until January!

Tomorrow and Sunday they are having a Hemp and Cannabis Expo here in Winnipeg facepalm Yeah - I know - I sound like a real "pot head"
I did get two free tickets from that guy who sold me the grow light over at Ready, Set, Grow so I might venture over there some time this weekend.
They are actually going to make weed legal in Canada on October 17th believe it or not

Still not sure if I will make it there or not. I am seriously thinking about going! They will have some cooking demonstrations which sound interesting at least!
There will be a guy there named The Wellness Soldier who used to be in the Canadian military and after being released needed medical marijuana - he'll be doing a cooking demo making Honey Oat muffins with a Berry Smoothie - sounds good! (that is at 11:45 so I may not make it there by then). Also at 3:30 he is making Steak with Chimmichurri & Horseradish Cream Sauce

The kids are gone to Baltimore for the Comicon that is going on up there this week-end. They won't be back hom until tomorrow evening. I need a break from them!!
Then next week-end, I am going away, so I get 2 breaks from all the noise ! I am even leaving my husband next week-end!!

 I think they use some cannabis oils and/or cannabis butter
Cannabis Infused Buffalo Wing Sauce
2/3 cup hot pepper sauce (such as Frank’s Red Hot)
1/2 cup cold Cannabis butter
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
salt to taste
Bring all ingredients to a simmer, while stirring with a whisk.
As soon as the liquid begins to bubble slightly, remove from heat, stir with the whisk, and set aside for use.
Can be stored in refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.
This is for chicken wings - sounds pretty good!
