This morning I got lost in a YouTube rabbit hole and watched Jimmy Fallon and Miley Cyrus doing "Islands in the Stream" who were dressed as Kenny and Dolly. Too bad I can't upload the video because I'm on my Kindle...or maybe you're relieved.
I've always liked the song, and they slam dunked it.

And these are for my friend and good neighbor Phil, outside watering plants and trimming bushes
"It's Magic" -Pilot-
"Strange Magic" - ELO-
"Magic Man" -Heart-
"Miracles" -Fleetwood Mac-
"Abra Cadabra" -Steve Miller Band-
Phil likes stuff from this era like I do I'm a huge ELO fan. I like Fleetwood Mac. I live on a diet of all things '80s. Currently I'm listening to "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight" by Cutting Crew.
Hey Doc, Here's an all time must have favorite from the 80's:
"Voices Carry" -'Til Tuesday-
As far as Just SOME bands/musicians/singers that crossed from the late 70's into the 80's go:
I love all of Pat Benatar's music! That girls voice is powerful AND sweet the way she hits all those notes. Lyrics and music were consistant quality too.
"Love is a battlefield" is one of the very best I think.
The Pretenders were another band I simply can't live without.
Talking Heads are awesome, their first hit; "Take me to the river" is my personal fav of theirs.

There's boat loads of underrated great music from that time. I NEVER listen to critics or popular public opinion about music, books, movies or anything else. I don't think, or believe in, anyone telling anybody else what they should like or not like.

Here's some more:

"Born to be wild." -Steppen Wolf-
"In the Summertime" -Mungo Jerry-
I loved hearing that last one in the first "Thor" movie.
