I consider this and Astronomy to be their Magnum Opus’s, such a beautiful song What did you think of the Saturday Night Live skit featuring "Don't Fear the Reaper"? (more cowbell)
It’s a good skit, although one time my mother asked me who Blue Öyster Cult was, and I told her their biggest hit was ”(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”, and she didn’t recognize the name, so I shamefully had to refer to it as “The Cowbell Song”. “Don’t Fear the Reaper” is an amazing song and definitely a classic, but it’s nowhere near what “Astronomy” or “Then Came the Last Days of May” are. Amazing how they haven’t been inducted into the Hall of Fame yet, their first album came out 47 years ago, way beyond the year limit. They have two songs about illegally crossing the Canadian border, if that means anything special to Canadians like you.

I looked up the group and listened to the song you posted - they had an interesting history and the music was good. I was surprised by the lyrics but I liked the melody.
Are you sure it's the Canadian border and not the Mexican one?

Not that song, that song is based on the true story of a group of teens who were murdered in Mexico after a bad drug deal. “I’m on the Lamb, but I Ain’t no Sheep” & “The Red and the Black” refer to illegally crossing the Canadian one.

Wings of Mercury- Blue Öyster Cult. Wish they made a studio version of this song instead of there only being one official recording that was thrown onto their most obscure live album.

I also love the dude audibly screaming “Astronomy! Play Astronomy!” at the end of it, I hope they played Astronomy lol. Wonder what he’s doing now

It is a funny song, though. The guys talking at the end, especially. (rofl)
