doccreed The Symphony here was doing a Rachmaninoff / Beethoven thing at the Canon Center last night. I really really wanted to go, but it was raining like crazy and I'd have to park and walk a bit to get inside. I wish I'd gone though. I've been listening to Bonnie Raitt all afternoon.

I really really wanted to go, but it was raining like crazy and I'd have to park and walk a bit to get inside. I wish I'd gone though. I've been listening to Bonnie Raitt all afternoon. I listen to classical music everyday. My favorite composers are Debussy, Mahler, Brahms, and Beethoven. I also have recently gotten into Grieg and Schumann and Sibelius. Rachmaninoff and Beethoven, eh? What a powerful duo. Tonight I was listening to Rach's prelude in C# minor. I remember going alone to hear Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony on my twentieth birthday weekend. It wrecked me, but I'll never forget that gut churning performance at the ASO. I don't blame you for not wanting to brave the foul weather. What is the last one you attended? I've only been about three times.
Thanks for the Raitt song. I like it, with the Alabama reference. I like "Feels Like Home", too.

@administrator Frank - I totally thought that would be in English - he introduced the song in English. I'm going to have to google translate they lyrics to see what that's all about. doccreedI haven't been to the symphony in a couple of years - last time I went it was to their supercool Halloween concert. The members wore costumes and masks and played scary / creepy music. It was a fantastic idea and so much fun. I like to go to the Canon Center and the Orpheum as often as possible. I really need to get an apartment downtown. I am going to see Symphony for Our World on March 2nd - it's some kind of symphony / video collaboration . I've got Fiddler on the Roof tickets (with my boss!). But also there's Sarah McLachlan, Jackson Browne and Amos Lee - all coming soon. I've got some decisions to make. I'm listening to Billy Idol and drinking Kendall Jackson. It's a good combo. TGIF!

That was quite interesting, Frank!!
I was listening to some Soundgarden last night, and still crying my eyes out over Chris' s death. He was such a beautiful person, inside, and out.

A venue of about 500. The group Avalon, too. (They had a big hit with "Testify to Love".) I wish I could remember the song she sang I liked so much. Need to search YouTube.

This is one of those songs I never get tired of hearing. I've been hitting that repeat button over the past couple days. I don't have satellite radio so I listen to all '80s music on YouTube. neesy I need that '80s movie channel you had. This decade takes me to my happy place. You guys have a nice weekend. animierte-smilies-winter-044 "There's a million hearts beating in my room; I wish they would go away..."

When I was 16 we used to drive around the back roads with a bottle of hooch, listening to Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple AqoOTBBrEtxQcNfJjaDD
Thanks for that throwback memory!
p.s. I think the driver stayed sober (at least I hope so) - there were usually at least four of us in the car B0QqBYzXPBBWUeYwSIrI
