I'm extremely introverted. If I were to meet King at a book signing, I wouldn't be able to form words. Or I'd be speaking eloquently to him in my mind and then realize I'm dumbstruck. Mayb

Worried that babyblue made a flight. Friends in that area said weather has been nasty. She made it - I met her and Mr. Blue last night

I made it safely to Bangor! I’m too late for the cookout but I will be attending the first event tomorrow. I’ll probably be up early because I’m used to being up early for work, if anybody would like to do breakfast or something… Neesy I’m going to DM my phone number since I’d like to be able to communicate with you more directly (since we are in the same town now...yay!!) Hey you go get all gussied up and then we will meet you at Robert Gray’s house 🏠 cannot wait to to see you ! Hurray

Yes....can’t figure out how to quote you, Doc, but I’ve got Marsha and Scott on speed dial, lol! I will figure this board out soon. There’s no obvious way to upload pics from my phone but I can look at the how to manual! Interesting side note... I was so hungry that I stopped at the Applebee’s in Waterville once it became obvious I wouldn’t make it to the cookout. I grabbed an appetizer at the bar and got to chatting with the gentleman next to me. He asked about the nature of my trip..long story (still long), he told me that he actually knew Steve freshman year of college at UMaine. The guy was a journalism major and spent the first ten weekends of college drinking at a party house with Steve! He said that he had a lightning wit and made people laugh. He also said that Steve was popular on campus because of his publication, “Steve’s Garbage Truck”, which was sort of an anything goes news publication that people found hilarious. Hey, I am from Southern NH and here everyone has a “how I know Adam Sandler” story. I sense that this part of Maine has a similar SK vibe, but I don’t doubt the validity of the gentleman’s story! I have an unusually accurate BS detector. Anyway I thought that was a pretty cool thing to have happen, especially since I didn’t get to go to the cookout. No, he sounds legit. He nailed the details, didn't he? You probably needed to rest and unwind and what a cool intersection of serendipity. Awesome. That part about college drinking made me think of Hearts in Atlantis - thanks for sharing your story ❤️

You know, I don't know why but I keep getting the feeling Stephen King might show up. He may not be in town but I really think he might stop and say hi. Hope so. I said that to neesy a few weeks ago. I have the exact same feeling!! That would be a dream come true and amazing of course- just being here is great however 👍🏻

So just a quick update - we got in on Thursday and stayed the first night at the Charles Inn. Met Robert Gray Friday a.m. and went to his place.
He and his wife Rachael are absolutely lovely people. They live in a house that used to be a church and they have a 250 inch screen and can seat around 30 people (think it would have been the former main part of the church).
I contacted Nomik and she is on her way over now.
Anyway gotta go make some coffee - talk to you guys later!

Hi everybody! Mr. Blue and I made it safely to Maine and had a great time at the cookout last night (in spite of being VERY tired from all three traveling). United's warning about bad weather in Chicago turned out to be a whole lot of phooey, thank goodness!

I’m sort of testing out my quoting skills.... Hopefully I got it right but I know, right? I thought it was pretty cool to have that conversation with this guy. He actually told me his name in case Steve attended the Kon ( 😂 😂 😂) to tell Steve hello. The guy was heading home to Tewksbury tomorrow......some kind of golfer thing for him here this week. You know, I don't know why but I keep getting the feeling Stephen King might show up. He may not be in town but I really think he might stop and say hi. Hope so. Doc, I have been thinking the same thing the past few days.

Very much looking forward to meeting you… So far I am having a wonderful time. I met up with Neesy, her son, and Robert Gray this morning. Robert has one of the coolest houses I’ve ever seen. He has generously offered for folks to watch movies this evening and his movie room. he has every Stephen King movie in the world, so I’ll be there. We all had a wonderful breakfast at a little bagel shop and then he took us around to see some things . We stopped at Gerald Wintes’ store, and I got some pics. I guess a group of people are going to the Irish pub downtown for lunch prior to the meet and greet. Neesy has generously offered to lend me a shirt because I guess everyone will be wearing a shirt and I didn’t bring one . (A Kon shirt lol) i’ve been taking pictures but I can’t figure out how to upload them by phone just yet.

Doc, I have been thinking the same thing the past few days. Really? How strange, all three of us. That'd be such a treat for the Konners if he did show up. I thought since Bev and Marsha (and others) were going to be there that he might do a brief hello and then leave. Let's hope!
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to share updates and details. We appreciate it. We look forward to pics. Thankee big big. neesy babyblue nomik

Hi there - just cooling down a bit before supper at 6 at the Oriental Jade. Found some wild strawberries growing by Robert Gray’s side yard (yum!).
We went to the Black Bear bar with misery chastain loves co., stacy270, Nomik, and [me and Josh] Their home made root beer was very good.
Took a pic of the canal but didn’t see Pennywise ha ha 😂 😝
Tomorrow is the caravan which I’m looking forward to!
Love and Green Lights to you guys ❤️
