Worried that babyblue made a flight. Friends in that area said weather has been nasty.

I made it safely to Bangor! I’m too late for the cookout but I will be attending the first event tomorrow. I’ll probably be up early because I’m used to being up early for work, if anybody would like to do breakfast or something… Neesy I’m going to DM my phone number since I’d like to be able to communicate with you more directly (since we are in the same town now...yay!!)

Nomik, I'm glad you arrived safely. I hope you are able to communicate by cell phone with other members while you all are in Bangor. Let us know how things are going once you join the group. Thanks for checking in with us here on this forum. Looking forward to pics.

Yes....can’t figure out how to quote you, Doc, but I’ve got Marsha and Scott on speed dial, lol! I will figure this board out soon. There’s no obvious way to upload pics from my phone but I can look at the how to manual! Interesting side note... I was so hungry that I stopped at the Applebee’s in Waterville once it became obvious I wouldn’t make it to the cookout. I grabbed an appetizer at the bar and got to chatting with the gentleman next to me. He asked about the nature of my trip..long story (still long), he told me that he actually knew Steve freshman year of college at UMaine. The guy was a journalism major and spent the first ten weekends of college drinking at a party house with Steve! He said that he had a lightning wit and made people laugh. He also said that Steve was popular on campus because of his publication, “Steve’s Garbage Truck”, which was sort of an anything goes news publication that people found hilarious. Hey, I am from Southern NH and here everyone has a “how I know Adam Sandler” story. I sense that this part of Maine has a similar SK vibe, but I don’t doubt the validity of the gentleman’s story! I have an unusually accurate BS detector. Anyway I thought that was a pretty cool thing to have happen, especially since I didn’t get to go to the cookout.

I thought it was pretty cool to have that conversation with this guy. He actually told me his name in case Steve attended the Kon ( 😂 😂 😂) to tell Steve hello. The guy was heading home to Tewksbury tomorrow......some kind of golfer thing for him here this week.

He nailed the details, didn't he? You probably needed to rest and unwind and what a cool intersection of serendipity. Awesome.

He may not be in town but I really think he might stop and say hi. Hope so.

I agree with doccreed. I think you just might be able to pass on his "hello" to the man himself.

That'd be great if he did. He's just that kind of a cool guy. It seems as he gets older he's tried to go the extra mile to please his fans. (Even polling them to see what he should write next. LOL).
