I never liked 'Interview with a Vampire'.
Loved the book, hated the movie.

Loved the book, hated the movie. Ann was skeptical to the nth degree at first, but changed her mind. The book was so much better, but the movie was better than no movie at all, and not that bad.

And the plot of 'Dances with Wolves'? It was simply a very well done retelling of a history of the some of 'The People' at that time, in their particular place.
Sorry, Commander osnafrank but I have to love 'Avatar'. 🙂

Sorry, Commander osnafrank but I have to love 'Avatar'. 🙂James Cameron could be making anything right now, and instead he's wasting his golden years making 4 sequels at once to an 11 year old film that was not that well received asides from visual effects. I've said it before, but, I do not like The Matrix at all. I've heard The Wachowski Sister's version of V for Vendetta is good, but, The Matrix and Speed Racer are the only two movies I have seen by them and have a relatively low opinion of. Inception is another sci fi espionage blockbuster I thought was boring. And add Scanners, Event Horizon, and ET to that list too. I love Tarantino, but Jackie Brown I also did not like either. The Wicker Man (original), Close Encounters, and Dirty Harry are three classics I just find okay but I'd hardly call them bad, though.

Sorry, Commander osnafrank but I have to love 'Avatar'. 🙂 Not solely did Cameron rip-off Michael Blake, (the author of the book and the screenwriter of the film, Dances with Wolves) he also plagiarised the aesthetics of Roger Dead, the famous English artist who has done album covers for bands like YES, Uriah Heep, etc. Check out the artwork of Roger Dead, then watch Avatar, you'll notice a lot of similarities. Take the floating islands for example, those are typical of a YES album, that is one of numerous similarities. The similarities were so obvious that Dean considered taking him to court over it.
Avatar isn't the sole example of Cameron committing plagiarism. He stole the plot for The Terminator from an Outer Limits episode. The studio had to intervene and give credit to the writer of the episode in the end credits because they knew they would be sued otherwise.
Cameron, while being a gifted writer/director, is a bit of a hack.

He wrote the screenplay to Alita: Battle Angel (awesome) and Terminator: Dark Fate (terrible). Plus, his legacy is secure, he doesn't have to work on anything he doesn't want to; he did the Alita and Terminator films because he genuinely wants to, not because he's got a contract with a studio. Plus, Cameron's heyday has well and truly gone, but that doesn't mean he can't still make excellent stuff.
Also, Event Horizon is awesome.

The plot is Dances with Wolves as well. Dances with Wolves had a plot? The Academy Awards delegation from the year it was released thought so. Michael Blake, the screenwriter, won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay.

Cameron, while being a gifted writer/director, is a bit of a hack. OJ Simpson was originally suggested for the role of the Terminator but that never went through... good thing, too, that would have aged horribly.
