Writers get their ideas by absorbing ideas form other place, every writer is a reader or watcher. This makes me wonder something. The Omen 2 came out around the same time SK was writing the Stand and image of a large raven appears heavily in the movie. I wonder if this inspired him to have Flagg as the crow Attachment Deletedmotif.

The Omen 2 came out around the same time SK was writing the Stand and image of a large raven appears heavily in the movie. I wonder if this inspired him to have Flagg as the crow motif. Possibly. But don't forget Crows and Ravens have been highlighted in literature through out history. And have always been closely related to supernatural realms. Look at stories in ancient Greek and Norse Mythology.....Apollo had two Crows that were his messengers and spies, and Odin in Norse mythology had two Ravens that served the same purposes for him. In later years Poe, of course uses a Raven as a sort of messenger from the beyond type figure in his poem, "The Raven. In more recent years look at the The Crow stories and films. You see Flagg as a Dracula type character who was surrounded by and able to control and use Crows, and even took on a ghastly and frightening black feathery appearance with completely black eyes. That is reminiscent of how Dracula has depicted as physically melting away into a flock of flying bats or a herd of scurrying rats.
