Mars Helicopter Flight Delayed to No Earlier than April 14Click me Frank, am I right that there really are no winds to speak of on Mars? I was watching a show Saturday indicating what the movie 'The Martian' got wrong and what it got right. I was surprised that the parts about using different space landers being able to work with each other was actually true, even being made decades apart. I can hardly remember the Movie.
Although Mars does get dust storms, the atmospheric pressure is so low that the wind is negligible...acctually.
I've read a study, that monitored the subtle movements of huge ripples of sand on the Martian surface suggests that Mars may actually be windier than researchers thought. agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1029/2020JE006446

60 years ago today, Yuri Gagarin was the first man in space. There was a story on the BBC about it tonight and hearing the story I learned that Yuri parachuted out of the rocket on his way back to earth and landed in a field on a farm. He was a brave man. I'm not sure what happened to the rocket he parachuted out of.

Speaking of Storm on Mars. It's a great scene but Mars' Atmosphere can't produce such storms.
A 100 mp/h wind on Mars has the same inertia and dynamic pressure, down on the surface, as an 10 mp/h wind on earth.

Poor Frank, on his birthday he keeps pressing the [Space Bar] on his keyboard but he's still stuck on Earth.
