Was going through some boxes from the basement flood last night. Among some of the things I found old commemorative US stamps from the early 80’s that didn’t get destroyed. Here is a picture taken in one from a 1981 set that I thought of this thread when I saw it.

Really love this thread Frank, thanks for putting it here. Missed yesterday's Bat channel/Bat time programming, because I had too much work going on at the time. 😔 But I'll catch the next one! 😄.....if I don't get get my tube socks and bra's back from Altair 4, that's okay! I'll just buy more! 😄😉
....darkharbinger?.....hey JB! 🙂....you know I love you better than a Bud Light! ....but I deleted that music vid you posted here. It falls under hot topics territory, and could be hurtful or offensive to some people. I know I did not care for it. Just trying to be considerate of everyone around here. I am very sure that you meant no harm. Just letting you know what's up. Have a great day/night/whenever. 🙂

Star Trek and NASA: 54 Years and Counting
Star Trek debuted 54 years ago on Sept. 8, 1966. Fans of the television science fiction series Star Trek were saddened when the show’s final episode aired on June 3, 1969. It seemed like the end of a very short era, as the program had only been on the air for three seasons. But, the show and its influence continue.
In the documentary “NASA on the Edge of Forever: Science in Space,” host NASA astronaut Victor Glover states, “Science and Star Trek go hand-in-hand.” The film explores how for the past 50 years, Star Trek has influenced scientists, engineers, and even astronauts to reach beyond their potential. While the ISS doesn’t speed through the galaxy like the Starship Enterprise, much of the research conducted aboard the orbiting facility can make the fiction of Star Trek come a little closer to reality.
In this image, the then Dryden Flight Research Center (now Armstrong) hosted the Star Trek crew in 1976 for the rollout of Space Shuttle Enterprise posing with the cast is then NASA Administrator James Fletcher and show creator, Gene Roddenberry.
