today word is Irie...its a Jamaican word that means everyting ok an fine A colloquialism Diz? Hey Dizzy
Brief definition of colloquialism: A local or regional dialect expression. "Slang" sometimes applies, I think.
Some synonyms: idiom, localism, parlance, regionalism.
I think a good example is Stephen King's use of "Ayuh".

A much liked word:
"Luminosity" base word: Luminous - middle English from Latin: Luminosus
one cool synonym is:
"Effulgence" - brief definition: Radiant Splendor from Latin verb: fulgere - to shine.

I heard Orson Welles use this word in an interview and I used it ever since...
Discombobulate
verb HUMOROUS
verb: discombobulate; 3rd person present: discombobulates;
past tense: discombobulated;
past participle: discombobulated;
gerund or present participle: discombobulating
disconcert or confuse (someone). "this attitude totally discombobulated Bruce"
Origin
early 19th century (originally US): probably based on discompose or discomfit

Great words @notaro and Dizzy!
Notaro, I have always liked "discombobulated"! For some reason it seems to always remind me of:
"Copecetic" (alternate spellings - Copesetic, Copasetic. according to Webster's collegiate dictionary.) Brief definiton: satisfaction, fine good, alright, all right.
"...and his smile told him that everything was copacetic." -Robert Bloch-
