That name is already taken by New England.
They could be The Washington Gridlock.
Or Washington Rain. In honor of our first president, they could be the Washington Washingtons.

That is the most unimaginative name in sport. They are planning to change it, they just haven't figured out what it's going to be yet.
They should change their name to The Washington Irvings Personally, since they're gonna change their name anyway I'd go with "Skins." That's what most people call them anyway. But we know that will never happen in today's climate. I think I read the leading names are: Americans, Warriors, Red Tails, Senators, Federals and Founders. Senators was Washington's MLB name before they relocated to Minnesota in 1960 when my uncle played for them, and Warriors is a NBA team. Out of the list I like Federals, but I have a feeling Americans will win out.

The silly police arrested me for thinking a soccer man could comment on an NFL thread.

Imagine if there was a London British team, or a Paris France team, sounds ridiculous, right? So stupid.

LOL. I still can't believe it. The Jets won a game... and against the top rated NFL defense. I've been holding off celebrating the Christmas miracle expecting to see a correction in the score. But in typical Jets fashion, the win has a terrible outcome because the only thing it accomplished was to lose their number 1 draft spot pick to Jacksonville. You got one. Nobody wants that 0-16 on their record. After they blew the game against LV, I wasn't sure they were going to get one.
The Dolphins had a 1-15 record a few years ago and the 1 win was an OT win. That was a close call.
Yup, 0-16 is a record nobody wants. I thought maybe Belichick might throw their final game against the Jest because the Patriots are out of the playoff running and it would knock the Jets out of getting the top Draft pick.

Sounds good and I like the Logo.
"The Capitals" would be a nice name. But i'm pretty sure there’s an NHL Team with this name.

Sooo, the Dolphins still have chances to make the playoffs.
49ers complicate Cardinals' playoff hopes.
And I'm pretty sure the Jets have to testify before a Doping Committee.

By winning the Jets lost their chance at drafting Trevor Lawrence (if he enters the draft).
The Dolphins pulled off a miracle Saturday night. There's still a little Fitz magic left.

Yeah, leave it to the Jest (pun intended) to screw themselves by winning. Doesn't matter, though... their recent first round draft picks either don't pan out too well or takes them years to reach their potential.

As expected, the Jets have fired head coach Adam Gase who had the job for two years, and leaves with a terrible record of 9-23. I was wondering... any other fired Dolphins coaches out there the Jets could bring in next? smilie_wut_086

I was wondering... any other fired Dolphins coaches out there the Jets could bring in next? Don't know if he was a coach yet but i've heard that Dan Marino has a lot of boredom. Marino has no coaching experience and he always hated the Jets. So he may be the perfect candidate for head coach.
A lot will depend on if Woody Johnson (owner) and his son keep their idiotic hands off the decision this time around. GM Joe Douglas knows what he’s doing and should be left to make the final decision unimpeded.
Biggest question is if they keep Sam Darnold as QB. He’s produced three poor seasons since being drafted. If they keep him they need to find a coach who can fix his flaws. And if they do decide to keep Darnold their best bet might be to trade the 2nd pick and get extra picks in the 2nd or 3rd rounds plus some more in later rounds.
But I think Darnold is gone because it will cost the Jets big money to keep him on and he hasn't lived up to expectations. Since the Jaguars will most certainly take QB Trevor Lawrence from Clemson with the 1st pick, the Jets will probably settle on QB Justin Fields out of Ohio State with the 2nd pick.
