I haven’t read anything by DK yet. My Dad, who sends a lot of good book suggestions my way, says I should read The Husband. I saw that a few people mentioned it in this thread. Did any of you get to it? I haven't read that one yet, but would highly recommend Watchers.

A few weeks ago I bought a used copy of Intensity online. Think I might've read this one many years ago. But it's in the top three of my TBR pile now.

Last weekend I was in a second hand book store with my brother and I passed up a whole bunch of Dean Koontz books. I can’t remember titles ,but they were all paperbacks and only about 2 bucks each. I’m kinda kicking myself now for not getting any.

Almost forgot to mention- I picked up two Dean Koontz books over the weekend...The Whispering Room and The Mask. Anyone familiar with either of those? I’m still keeping an eye out for the others that were recommended.👀

Many of the ones you mentioned. i havent read but i remember liking Lightning. I did not like the Frankenstein stories. As a whole i find him very much a hit or miss author. You never know what you get if its good or bad. Very uneven.

Hit or miss is a good way to describe his writing. There have been a few books I've enjoyed, a couple that I only started liking about halfway through, and several I've completely given up on after a while.

Well guys....I've finished my first book by Dean Koontz--The Husband. And I feel disappointed.
Maybe I got my expectations up too high...I dunno.
He hardly spent any time setting up the story. There was no real background or depth to a lot of the characters. The only female character, the wife, didn't feel life-like at all to me.
Oh well. I have a couple other books by Koontz here, but now I'm in no hurry to get to them.

Oh man....I have so many books to sell/trade in. If anyone wants some Dean Koontz books, just tell me and I'll have them in the mail like *that* ! (I can't even donate books! Our Goodwill stores said they're not taking any books right now....Whaaa?? I've never heard of such a thing! I don't know if it's due to covid or what.)

I'd take you up on the offer but being up here in the wilds of Canada you might have to send them by dogsled to my igloo

I volunteer at a goodwill that is now closed because of covid, the last time it was closed because of covid, the local council wanted us open, because of books and peoples mental health. The amount of books is complained about, but the books are never knocked back.

Watchers, lightning, servants of the twilight, and Demon Seed Are these all better than The Husband, in your opinion? I'd be willing to give Dean a second chance, but maybe not for a little while yet.
