I am very happy right now. The Raconteurs are coming to St Augustine on Nov 9. What is extra great about that is that I already have tickets for Elvis Costello in St Augustine on Nov 8. So I can stay an extra day and catch both shows. The Raconteurs have a date in Miami in November but it is a festival and I didn't want to do that so I was holding out hoping they would add another Florida date. I did a two shows in one weekend in St Augustine last year and had a good time. There's a lot to do in St Augustine so it makes for a nice weekend.
Anyone have any concert plans coming up?

There is a Tito and Tarantula Concert in September.
I saw them about 15 years ago and it was a great concert.
There are still cards available, maybe i`ll go to the concert

I watched the movie Lords Of Chaos (about Mayhem) last week. It was interesting and grisly as hell. I read that the movie was not historically accurate but I don't really think it was intended to be. Some characters were combined to kind of give a condensed version covering multiple personalities and bands from that time. I see it as a mix of fact and myth where the truth line is blurry. Kind of like what Oliver Stone did with The Doors movie where he mixed the legend of Jim Morrison with the truth.
Anyway, I didn't know anything about Mayhem before that movie and I read some about them after I saw the movie. That's quite a disturbing early history they had.

I thought the Lords Of Chaos movie was ok, I like black metal in general but aside from the two songs they recorded in the studio with Dead and the first full album with Attila on vocals I'm not too wild about Mayhem, their early band history seems to be a succession of attempts at violent one-upmanship, one burns a church so another kills someone to seem tougher and more extreme, pathetic moronic idiots if you ask me. |

Does anyone actually care about Styx when Dennis DeYoung isn't there? They should rename it the Tommy Shaw Styx Tribute Band. Bands do this so they don't have to pay out refunds. I take it you'll be here all week? Please tip your waitresses? |

My August 21 concert at The St Augustine Amphitheater finally got postponed. It's been rescheduled for July 21, 2021. I hope that works out. If we are having July 2021 concerts cancelled, we are screwed.
