At the moment I'm a little better than halfway through The Devil's Punchbowl by Greg Iles. It's the third in his "Penn Cage" series and that dude knows how to keep you turning the pages.
After that I've got Ring Shout by P. Djèlí Clark. It's one of the five books being covered by the "Writing Excuses" podcast and I've been keeping up with those as best I can. It's definitely opened up my horizons to new authors I might have missed.
After that? I might give Jilly Cooper another go. Rivals is the book that's about to be released as a miniseries, but I think it's the second in a series and I'm thinking about going back to the beginning to get a better fix on the characters. These thick bonkbusters are not in our regular library system; I'd have to do a specialized type of circulation request if I don't want to buy them.

I’m about to start listen to SK’s “The Breathing Method”.
Finished listening to “Mute” a little while ago, and this morning paid a revisit to “The Things They Left Behind.”

The other day I found “If It Bleeds” on audio.
Finished “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone”, and liked it.
I may get to more of that collection today. Looking forward to it.

I’ve finished the collection “If It Bleeds” as much as I could. Turns out the last story, “The Rat” was cut short in the audio.
I’m now a little more than halfway through listening to, “The Outsider”.
I’m getting the story (puzzle) that is Holly Gibney piece by piece, here and there.
(A while back I got to listen to the first part of “Holly”, and hoping that more of that book will be posted sooner or later)
I know it would be ideal to read the Bill Hodges trilogy first, then go on from there.
But this way is working good too…. Not too unlike how the story “The Life Of Chuck” works, lol. And I can’t find the other 3 books.
So, I’m having a good time doing it this way. 😊

Oh dang! This morning I found “Mr. Mercedes” and “Duma Key” on audio! The vids seem to be complete. Sure hope they are, and that I can find “Duma Key” again later.
”The Outsider” was great, and now I need to get on with getting to know Bill Hodges. 🙂

That's Rivals, by the way. For whatever reason it was published under two different names. I'm about forty pages in, and "salacious" doesn't even begin to cover it. Oh. My. Goodness. I don't recall the Eighties being like that at all...

I don't know yet. dizzy, i'm only 18 pages in. I'm interested to hear what you think as well, Frank. That one is quite popular but I haven't checked that author out yet. One more entry on my I'll-never-live-long-enough-to-get-to-them-all reading list.

One more entry on my I'll-never-live-long-enough-to-get-to-them-all reading list. I'll write a little review, after i finished the book. But after the first 20 pages, Ove seems to be an interesting person.

Okay, better late than never.
I loved "A Man called Ove"
He often reminded me of someone.
Ove is so well drawn, I believed every nasty word he uttered. He seems like one of the grumpiest characters of the literature history. Also, the language is good, and the story moves along seamlessly. Backman's writing is clean and simple.
Although it has some really sad moments, it's hilarious, it's like a breath of fresh air.

The Movie "A Man Called Ove" is on Tubi.

Haven't seen it, but i've read that it's much better than the US Remake "A man called Otto", with Tom Hanks.

I have not seen the Tom Hanks one, as once I read a really good book, don't want it spoiled if the movie isn't good. A friend said it was not true to the book.
However, The link you sent is said to be more true to the book. I may ck it out. THank you.
