I've included a couple of his short story collections in there as I think they are better than some of his novels to be honest. 01. The Shining 02. The Stand 03. The Dead Zone 04. Salem's Lot 05. The Green Mile 06. Cujo 07. Pet Sematary 08. Different Seasons 09. The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon 10. Mr. Mercedes 11. Cycle Of The Werewolf 12. Misery 13. Christine 14. The Dark Tower; The Gunslinger 15. Night Shift 16. Eyes Of The Dragon 17. The Talisman 18. The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three 19. Skeleton Crew 20. Thinner Sorry, Notaro, just now seeing this. I started following you today so I will now see your posts. I like your list, especially your top ten, but I'm surprised to see Mr. Mercedes ranked before Misery. But, this is why I like to see people's lists. I haven't read any of them recently so I'm going from memory and I think Brady Hartsfield and Bill Hodges are more interesting characters than Annie Wilkes and Paul Sheldon, I enjoyed the dynamic between Hartsfield and Hodges more.

Did you read the entire trilogy? I didn't finish End of Watch, but will someday. Some of the health stuff was a bit too close to home for me at the time. Then I read The Outsider which had HUGE spoilers... That's what I get for not finishing a SK book!

Yes I read the three, well I read two and listened to the audiobook of End Of Watch, I really enjoy listening to audiobooks while I'm working, makes the day go by much quicker .

It's so hard for me to choose and put his novels in a specific order this way. Every book is different, and like people, you have a different love for every specific individual work of art. How do you think one diamond is more beautiful than another? I guess thats just me. I'm a weirdo, lol.
I'll make a list of 10 from his older works I love. No collections here, and no Dark Tower books.
1.) The Stand 2.) The Talisman (that one count? considering it was written with Straub?) 3.) Pet Semetary 4.) The Tommyknockers 5.) Christine 6.) Thinner 7.) The Green Mile 8.) The Dark Half 9.) The Eyes Of The Dragon 10.) The Dead Zone
Honorary 11th is a newer novel than those, and IS one of my BEST loved works by King: Black House! I wish there was a thread to list any and all of our favorite King characters from any novel or short story. Doesn't even have to be in lists, just naming favorite characters and what you particularly love about them and why. Might be fun and interesting. Maybe.

I do think his short story collections and the Dark Tower series deserve their own categories. They're favorites in a different way. I definitely do have short story collections that I prefer over others. I love all the Dark Tower books, but if pressed to choose favorites I would pick: The Gunslinger The Drawing of the Three Wizard and Glass

Excellent choices. It's great to see another reader rank The Tommyknockers so highly. Its a funny book but it actually freaked me out...did it you?

Gard is one of my favorite King characters, Bobby too. I think this book has somethings in common with "Needful Things", getting to know the characters as they are, then see the difference in them after they had been affected by the sinister. Hope that makes sense, got more to add, but honestly I gotta sign out for awhile. Old injury really buggin' me right now. I'm fine! I just need to rest my leg for alittle while. I over did on some work out side yesterday. Talk more soon.
